I see people talk about Kindle Spy or KD Spy. I forget which is the right name.But you don't need any keyword tool. Amazon search bar is all you need like I explained in an earlier post. Ranking on Amazon is not the same as ranking on Google.

Go to Kindle store...type sci fi ero...below you have the keywords . (see attachment)
This is the auto-suggest function which tries to match what you're looking for with what other customers are searching.

Even better: check the best-sellers in your category. Learn what keywords your competitors are using.
This works better because:
1. The auto-suggest function (and the entire A9 alghoritm, as well) is influenced by your profile (your previous searches, your purchases etc).
2. The auto-suggested keywords are being displayed in an alphabetical order (you would need them to be sorted according to the volume of sales each of them is bringing).

You just need to analyze the best-sellers in your category/ niche and learn what keywords they are putting in their titles and descriptions. It is believed that the most important keywords should be placed first in the title.

Most of the keyword research tools are following the same technique as mentioned above. Compared to Google (Keyword Planner, Google Trends etc.) , Amazon doesn't provide any kind of data in which regards the keywords which are used on their platform (except the auto-suggest feature, of course).

BUT, you can also use the a/m google services to figure out which are the most important keywords in your niche. People are using the same search patterns on any kind of platform, be it Google, Bing or even Amazon.

The Kindle world is really interesting. Most people write books about marketing or other things related to digital businesses and so there is more competition in those niches. Other fields include hobbies and fiction. Some years ago people used to write many short stories and (apart from sales) earned by the number of downloads of amazon prime users. Now Amazon calculates your earnings by the number of pages that are actually read. If you are a good writer or hire talented people for that matter, there's always money to be made.

Pages read is only if you are apart of KDP Select program. Outside of it, you are paid for sales made on your books.

I found out that KDP Select is good to start. I published three ebooks last week. No sale in one week, but 1300 KENP read, which should be a few dollars (I make no ads at all).
