If you've ever watched a YouTube video, chances are you've come across the tactics JelloApocalypse makes fun of here?methods which people use to try to get YOUTUBE FAMOUS. Heck, if you've ever made YouTube videos, you might even be guilty of some of this stuff!

Ahahaha I am so guilty of watching those abridged series... >_>

I'm pseudo YouTube famous.....I don't have 100,000+ subscribers but all 12,000+ of mine are real. (I know this because I get a TON of emails each day).
The trick is finding a niche and giving your viewers what they want.

Where did I go wrong? Why do I only have 12,000 subs?

Because Google took away my ability to monetize videos due to an AdSense dispute and I didn't want to start 3 or 4 different channels catering to what everyone wanted.

I started with "flex videos" and then went in the direction of my true artistic nature and started sketches and fitness advice videos. I got subscribers who wanted one of each, two of each or all.

The real trick is to find YOUR niche and go with it. Run with it. When you get "fans" they'll stick with you and they'll support you and help you build your channel.

F Google! They ruined my ability to have an incentive to help both them and me generate revenue.

I tried switching to other video sites but like eBay, once people are hooked on one site they choose not to venture elsewhere.

DO YOUR THANG!!! Be yourself and you'll find people who'll like you for it...this applies to all things in life!

btw: i'm ' shakelightly ' on youtube.

I tried to think of a way, and I thought to just film my welsh corgi, so I ended up buying a Panasonic GH2. The thing is he's too lazy, but there are some cute and funny things he does. I thought about vlogging, because if you've ever seen prankvsprank you'd probably want to give it a shot, buttt, you have to be pretty well spoken/outgoing which in front of a cam I'm not so good at.

My favorite channels on youtube are the ppl that do pranks, I'm subscribed to about 15 different prank channels. I would never prank in public, I don't have the personality for it (when someone would get pissed at you). For people that want a refreshing youtube channel to check out, I found a new prank channel last night called SNLStar http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPGBL495EEBB4DF7WiGeA-w the guy is frikin hilarious, check out his "Mistaken Gender" series.

I'm pretty good with Sony Vegas though, like this video I made where I mixed together some of my home footage from 1999 of a water balloon fight, and David Wolfe (a well known authority on nutrition) riffing about his spring water system he has installed in his house

I'd really like to make that water balloon fight footage into a series. You can check out the other one on youtube if you type in 'Water balloon fight in 1999 to Tek One's Pass the Fifth'

Man you are my new hero on youtube. love your style. what software you are using for animations ?

There is big money in Youtube if you know what to do...

That video was pretty funny to watch actually :D

Once I uploaded a video of my car's broken odometer, I got about 24 hits on that video. I thought to monitize the video, seeing that there seems to be a market for broken odometer videos.
