    Hey guys,

I see like 5 threads a day posted from somebody who:
    a) lost a job
    b) owe money
    c) needs $x in y days
    d) is dejected because "z" method doesn't work

Here is your solution on how to make $x dollars in y amount of time:

    STEP 1
This plan is how to sell SEO to local businesses. You will need 0$ to start but you will need a shitload of effort, and you will need a lot of patience. You will need to walk up and down streets petitioning business owners to do SEO with you, and you will need to be a "pushy salesman" to make sure they give you a deposit asap. The SEO for local keywords is actually really easy to do, and if you have any SEO knowledge this should be pretty straightforward.

    DISCLAIMER:
Keep in mind that you are lending your reputation behind your work, and if you are unable to provide the work to the business owners, you may be in serious legal and moral trouble.

    THE GOOD STUFF
First, create a sales page using Microsoft Word (or Google Doc, OpenOffice) that outlines three payment plans and three SEO options, 1 that is extremely cheap, 1 that you want to sell, and 1 that is a bit more expensive than the one you want to sell. Here is an example:

    OPTION 1:
    $95/month
Small scale SEO for 3 keywords [estimated ranking on first page within 6 months]
    Facebook Page
    Twitter Page

    OPTION 2:
    $259/mo
    Recommended SEO for local businesses
Medium SEO for 10 keywords [estimated ranking on first page within 6 months]
    Facebook Page [30 likes]
    Twitter Page [30 followers]

    OPTION 3:
    $339/mo
SEO Investor plan [make some real cash]
Top level local seo for up to 15 keywords [estimated ranking on first page within 6 months]
    Facebook Page [50 likes]
    Twitter Page [50 followers]
    Google places

Your goal is to push option 2, as it is the best ROI [return on investment] for you. Even if you were to hire this work out using Fiverr or an employee, you should remain 50% profitable (lending you a 50% operating margin, making this plan extremely easy to scale up)

Once they agree to option 2, show them the following KEYWORD LIST that you should have prepared before you enter the meeting.

    - 1 Keyword set
[provide the store with the following set of keywords:]
If the store is a pizza store, for example, offer them to SEO using the term: Pizza Restaurant Los Angeles [replace with the city]. Then use Google AdWords (or market samurai, scrapebox) to generate a lot of related terms with low competition that include the city.

Note: It is extremely important to talk to the owner of the store and ask him what he believes is a "selling point" to his restaurant and why people might choose his pizza joint over another one. Pay attention to what he says, and make sure you understand it all. It is very important that you remember these facts he says if you want to close the deal.

    EXAMPLE KEYWORD LIST:
    Pizza Store Los Angeles
    Pizza Restaurant Los Angeles
    Good Pizza in LA
    Cheap Pizza in LA
    Best Pizza in LA
    Italian Pizza shop in LA

Do not offer more than 10 keywords, and MAKE SURE THE COMPETITION ON THE KEYWORDS IS NOT BEYOND YOUR MEANS. A good measure is to type the keyword in "quotes" in Google. If the number of competitors is over 50,000, and the people who come up for the search term have extremely high domain or page authority, you are in for too much work to rank the keyword. Keep in mind that 6 months is a really long time, and you should be able to find the time to make it happen.

Rinse and repeat, and use your SEO methods to get the owners ranked for their keyword. If you do not know SEO, DO NOT DO THIS. If you do not know SEO and you still want to do this, here are 2 methods:

Thanks for sharing, I was thinking about doing something similar. Also, is it necessary to register a company before I can sell services?

This is a tax question I think. Here's my answer:

If you are going to make more than $1000.00 from this, it is worth opening a business bank account with a "DBA" name on the account, so that you can 1099 your self at the end of the year. This allows for a lot of tax write offs, and you can end up getting a lot of money back at the end of the year.

If you are going to make a lot of money from this, consider filing for an LLC so that you are personally protected and you are not in the line of fire for suing. An LLC can protect your assets if you file it correctly. Try legalzoom if you cannot afford a lawyer.

OK, but can I promote the service using a 'company' name without actually registering the company?

Alright writeup. The resources to start getting yourself profiting offline is all over the place, it's just the implementing that people don't get.

As for the LLC question... read this thread:

Just add a DBA to your bank account. It's free.

I would worry about making money first before getting caught up in the paperwork of setting up a business (assuming you are broke). People will spend more time thinking of a cool business name or domain, then focusing on getting clients. Focus on the money first and worry about all that other stuff later imo.
