You will need 0$ to start but you will need a shitload of effort, and you will need a lot of patience. You will need to walk up and down streets petitioning business owners to do SEO with you, and you will need to be a "pushy salesman" to make sure they give you a deposit asap. The SEO for local keywords is actually really easy to do, and if you have any SEO knowledge this should be pretty straightforward. DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind that you are lending your reputation behind your work, and if you are unable to provide the work to the business owners, you may be in serious legal and moral trouble. THE GOOD STUFF First, create a sales page using Microsoft Word (or Google Doc, OpenOffice) that outlines three payment plans and three SEO options, 1 that is extremely cheap, 1 that you want to sell, and 1 that is a bit more expensive than the one you want to sell. Here is an example: OPTION 1: $95/month Small scale SEO for 3 keywords [estimated ranking on first page within 6 months] Facebook Page Twitter Page OPTION 2: $259/mo Recommended SEO for local businesses Medium SEO for 10 keywords [estimated ranking on first page within 6 months] Facebook Page [30 likes] Twitter Page [30 followers] OPTION 3: $339/mo SEO Investor plan [make some real cash] Top level local seo for up to 15 keywords [estimated ranking on first page within 6 months] Facebook Page [50 likes] Twitter Page [50 followers] Google places Your goal is to push option 2, as it is the best ROI [return on investment] for you. Even if you were to hire this work out using Fiverr or an employee, you should remain 50% profitable (lending you a 50% operating margin, making this plan extremely easy to scale up) Once they agree to option 2, show them the following KEYWORD LIST that you should have prepared before you enter the meeting. - 1 Keyword set [provide the store with the following set of keywords:] If the store is a pizza store, for example, offer them to SEO using the term: Pizza Restaurant Los Angeles [replace with the city]. If the number of competitors is over 50,000, and the people who come up for the search term have extremely high domain or page authority, you are in for too much work to rank the keyword.
