And maybe also consider to choose interesting image and unique for the keyword and then optimize alt image, tag, filename etc.
With good and catchy image maybe can increase click ratio and maybe google will rank our image.

This is just a page (riddles with stuffed keywords) ranking on a domain (with strong (PBN?) links) for an extremely long keyword...

I really don't see what the big whoop is here.
 
Can you explain to rank some other images like Tech or travel for ranking.
 
The method is simple where you can rank image on Google images. Once I was ranking in the 5th position for Weight Loss Diet this was just a test. Just hotlink your image in Forums. Simple as that. It's an overlooked technique but it works like charm just find unique images as when I hit this position it was slapped down by A DMCA as it was a famous website in this niche.

So only one link or 3 to 4 links enough from forums also whether we need to use nofollow or do follow links.
In these days we see only no follow links in forums.

By Default, all hotlinked images are followed. So don't worry just put in the alt tag your keyword you wish to rank for. This can be done through:
1 - insert an image from URL And in this case, this URL will be yours where you can obtain it through copy image URL
2 - then it will be inserted through the thread using this bbcode [ img alt = "Your Main Keyword" ] your_image_.the_extension[ /img ] I Put spaces into this bbcode because not to convert into an image. As BHW supports bbcode
