[GUIDE] How To Find Clients For Free (Almost)

Grate Share your guide. I learnt good idea that help to me to find clients.
I got the inspiration from a question I received in my DMs. This is geared to people offering B2B services.

If you've seen some of my posts, you might have noticed I talk a lot about Cold Emails.
This is because, it's by far, my favourite way to generate clients and I believe it is an underrated channel when used correctly.

The only issue is that you need a lot of tools to get started. The good news is that cold email software is a very competitive industry, this means that a lot of tools offer a trial version. We will take advantage of that to get started.

1/ The first step of your lead generation process is to source & filter an audience. You'll need the LinkedIn Sales Navigator (= the premium version of LinkedIn). The good news is that they offer a 30-DAYS trial version (cost = $0).

2/ Second step will be to extract your lead searches from LinkedIn to some Excel/Google Sheets. You'll need a tool such as Phantombuster to do this at scale. Once again, good news: they offer a 14-DAYS trial (cost = $0)

3/ Third step will be to get the email addresses from your leads. Kleanleads let you do that and they offer a 7-DAYS trial (cost = $0)

4/ Once you have your list of email addresses, you'll need to verify them to ensure that the emails are valid. EmailListVerify allows you to verify 100 emails for free. Zerobounce also. Same for: VerifyBee, TrueMail.

5/ Now you want to insert your clean list of email addresses to an email sending tool that will automate your email sending and follow-ups. Use Woodpecker for that. Alternatives: Klenty, Reply, Lemlist. They all offer a 14-DAYS trial (cost = $0)

6/ Finally, you will want to warm up your email address to make sure you don't land in spam. Use Warmupinbox for that. They have a 7-DAYS trial (cost = $0)

The only issue is that you'll need to set up a domain and an email address from which to send. This can be done with less than $20.

That's it for now. For those who wish to get started with Cold Emails, I recommend the Cold Email Mastery (paid) course from Cold Email Wizard. If you don't have any money to spend just yet.

Cheers :)

Hey OP,

This will be a stupid question, but I just gotta ask, why go through all these steps if in Step #1 you already have a way to contact the person? Why not just contact them there right away?

Also Question #2, why not just visit the website and scrape the emails with hunter.io and you knwo right away the email of all the people and their position int he comapny

You're welcome. There are other alternatives such as:
- Warmbox
- Mailreach
- Mailwarm
- Lemwarm (Lemlist in-built warm-up solution)

wow! just wow!

This website had my eyeballs glued to the screen for nearly 2 hours.

I'm just dipping my toe into email marketing and this seems like the perfect place to start.

Thank you for that. Please don't hesitate to let me know how it can be improved!

Hey Noctur,

Not a stupid question at all. The reason for not contacting them on LinkedIn is that we're trying to contact people at scale. There are several reasons preventing us from contacting people on LinkedIn:

1. Not being connected (and not having connections in common) means that the only way to message them is through an inMail (paid) or a message in the connection request. This message will have a character limit.
2. Above a certain volume, we're putting our account at risk. Lately, LinkedIn has been experimenting with new limits, which means that we can reach out to fewer people than before.

Also, getting their email addresses lets us contact them on several platforms. We can now contact them by email AND on LinkedIn if we really want them to pay attention to us.

As for the #2nd questions. It's for the same reason as not contacting them directly on LinkedIn. It's very time-consuming to go through each website and collect email addresses one by one. With the workflow described in my post, it takes you 5-10 minutes to get ~800 email addresses from a highly targeted list of prospects.

Yes. I recommend using the free warmer for Gmass. I think they just released it. Thanks for the info

This is amazing. I used to do B2B email marketing by scraping emails from LinkedIn manually in 2016 -17. Now after reading this I may start something again. Thanks a lot.

Hey OP, (or someone who has done this).

For Step #2 in Phantombuster, which phantom should be used? Sales Navigator Profile Scraper or Sales Navigator Search Export?

Hey OP, sorry, just going # by #

On #3 Klean Leads, in the video on their website it can scrape the linked in accounts and industtires and give you a .csv list. if that is the case, are #1 and #2 needed?

Thank you for this helpful guide.

I've never tried email outreach or lead generation before but I'm seeing a job listing that I want to get myself into. Here's some of my newbie questions:

1. In sending an email to prospect leads, how do we make sure that the messages will be routed to the Inbox instead of the Spam folder?

2. What's the funnel process that you follow in doing your outreach?
From the job listing that I saw, it's more like this:
a. Find prospect leads with a filtered criteria(company size, location, industry, specific company's job role)
b. Send a request through LinkedIn.
c. Send an introductory message after prospect accepts invitation in LinkedIn(No sales pitch yet, must be general or personalized)
d. Follow up message(Request personal email for further discussion.)
e. If prospect responds and provides email(send email related to prospect's business/job role and how the company's service can help.)
f. If prospect responds and wants to know more about the service, schedule a demo/meeting with the company's Sales team.

3. Can you share some samples of your templates that are proven effective with your outreach?

P.S.
I have taken the initial assessment of the job listing already.

Seems like I passed the first part but failed the second one which is mainly about the outreach process.

The company sent me another invite to take their other test and I'm pretty sure that it will just be the same.
a. Find 3 companies with a given criteria.
b. Pick 1 company and from that get 3 prospect people with a specific job role to contact.
c. Provide my message in LinkedIn after being accepted.
d. Provide my follow up message through email.

I want to Ace the test and get the job. Help me.:smirk:

I wonder, could this be used to get the leads and then sell them to potential businesses that need this sort of thing?

Hey OP, (or someone who has done this).

For Step #2 in Phantombuster, which phantom should be used? Sales Navigator Profile Scraper or Sales Navigator Search Export?

You should use the Sales Navigator Search Export.

Hey OP, sorry, just going # by #

On #3 Klean Leads, in the video on their website it can scrape the linked in accounts and industtires and give you a .csv list. if that is the case, are #1 and #2 needed?

In these cases no. In many case you can directly use Kleanleads. The first steps are useful if you're looking for targeting criteria that you can't find inside Kleanleads or if you're using another email finder such as ColdCRM, Snov or Anymailfinder.

I wonder, could this be used to get the leads and then sell them to potential businesses that need this sort of thing?

Yes. Some people provide leads as a service. You'll need more clients to properly monetize that as the value of the lead gen service lies in the copywriting (in my opinion).

1. In sending an email to prospect leads, how do we make sure that the messages will be routed to the Inbox instead of the Spam folder?

This is why we warm up our email addresses. The email warmer software will simulate interactions between your mailbox and other mailboxes. Each time your emails land in spam, they will be manually placed in the inbox folder as to send a positive signal to the emailing platform.

Here's a great article on email deliverability: https://www.mailreach.co/blog/how-t...oing-to-spam-in-2021-the-most-in-depth-guide/

2. What's the funnel process that you follow in doing your outreach?
From the job listing that I saw, it's more like this:

There are many different ways to do that. I usually start with a plain email sequence.
Meaning: filtering of the audience, identification of email addresses and then 4-step email sequence with automated follow-ups.

But when campaigns work well, I'll usually go omnichannel. A complex example can look like this:

LinkedIn profile view > Like Twitter last post > Add contact on LinkedIn > Send LinkedIn message > Send LinkedIn follow-up > Send Email #1 > Send Email #2.

I did that with a tool called LaGrowthMachine, check this article: https://lagrowthmachine.com/advanced-lead-generation/

3. Can you share some samples of your templates that are proven effective with your outreach?

The most important part of the outreach is the personalization aspect IMO. Most templates can work and not work. But, building individual rapport with a highly targeted prospect will skyrocket your reply rate.

Hey OP,

So so so sorry to bother you again! You're like a goldmine of knowledge lol!

Quick question, I just got the KleanLeads its actually INSANE on how well it works.

So if I have 1000 emails. How can I send all 1000 emails? I'm using Outlook. Unfortunately it doesn't have an option to "Copy Draft Email" otherwise I would have copied it 100s of times, replaced the emails and sent it away. Any other option of doing it?

I'm not sure I got what you mean. You want to automate the sending to these 1000 emails, is that right?

Thank you for this OP. Now I have multiple resources to check.

Another thing though, when you said building a rapport, was it about doing Omnichannel instead of just plainly sending them an email straight away?

Building rapport is done through the copy of your message. To do that, you can craft an icebreaker or intro line that’s individually personalized to your prospect.

People will be more inclined to reply if they feel you took some time getting to know them.

You should use the Sales Navigator Search Export.

Yeah, I figured as much. I don't really have any services to offer these businesses so figured this was the next best thing.

Yes, it's still a good idea. You can start by offering leads and upsell for lead generation services if they don't seem to know what they are doing. Another option would be to partner with some lead gen agencies. You could refer the leads to them in exchange for a commission fee.
