My only issue is I can't add a pic to an existing post. If I try to add a picture is appears as a separate post.
What's interesting is, only when viewing through the app, my site logo appears embedded in the post instead.

Use a combination of random words with your site's name.

@Kurumi above said he used indexing service to index the link in three days.
Just do the step by step for posting as I mentioned in the first post and the result will look like the post on the screenshot.

For a newly built website, it holds zero value.

You need to click the Preview channel link to get the /s/ in the link. Just follow my step by step guide and you will get it.
And that's where you're wrong. This link can be used for link diversity and gaining authority. Very recommended for a newly built site.

The answer is provided by OP already. Indexing services. There are threads here comparing these services. Please do a search. It works, and much better than waiting for Google to index them naturally...
