I see you judge the sites on third party metrics like MOZ, i cannot take guides seriously when you advise MOZ and Majestic as they are wrong at least 70% of the time when it comes to the value of a domain you want a link from.
This is just for lazy people that are going to pay top dollar for ussles links buried inside blogs with no value, there is a reason why guest posting is expensive.

You can always use common sense and run the sites that have accepted a guest post through Ahrefs before you pick the winners this just saves a lot of time. That's not lazy.
Most guest posts will be inner page anyway it's not very often you can secure a homepage link on a real site so I don't get your point about the links being buried inside.

I have tried it and get a similar response rate as yours. However, 100 % of the responses I get, ask for money in return of guest posts (like usual).
Has it become the same for you, or do you still find genuine and free guest posting opportunities with this outreach technique?

There is no such thing as a free guest post anymore, not on sites that will give you quality links it isn'ty 2008 anymore, back then you could get a lot of backliks for free with outreach. But these days people know the value of their sites/blogs if you check the metrics of the sites you get free links from you'll see that it will be garbage and the webmaster just want your HQ content.
