Soon, people will start building mentions and references to the figures behind their websites rather than just links to the websites.

We are going into the era whereby the faces behind publications would be important to search engines, and that will influence ranking rather than just building links.

However, quality backlinks——still play a key role in building trust and relevance. AI considers backlinks, mentions, and other signals together to judge authority.
