Google Webmaster Tools questions

Hello all,
I've just started a new blog about 1 week ago, as a "normal" user I registered my site to GW tools and i submitted an sitemap there.

The main question : Why in google webmaster tools i can't see any of my links indexed, because when i search like this "site:url.com" it shows me a lot of links.

The second question: Is this normal, it takes sometime before google adds your links to webmaster tools ?

Also, can you please tell me the best ways for driving traffic to my website ?
(i've tried reddit,identi.ca, and some link-building) but so far, i don't get any good results, just about 10-15 visitors after spamming.

its relatively a new site give it time for google to index your links and pages, to drive traffic you have to optimize your site for various keywords that people search for in googles webmaster tools if your site ranks well for some keywords you can see the words there.

As we all know optimizing takes time, so I need some BH tips to drive some traffic. As I said before, in the search engine i can see my links, but not in the Webmaster tools.

That's normal. If I recall correctly it can take a few weeks to 2 months before you start to see the backlinks in webmaster tools.

On the other hand, Yahoo allows anybody to see them, and are near instant after getting indexed.

What does this mean? Theres no way I'm ranking at those positions in google for those keywords. Is it just the number of surfers that have searched using those keywords and found my site?

Your results are weird.


I used webmaster tools on 11 different sites. for ALL of my sites, I've verified that the results go like this:

<Search frequency> <Search Term> <my placement in google search>


But I took your post and that doesnt see to hold true for you provided what you posted was actual results.

Well, this is the same hill that we ALL are looking at when we build new site. You want traffic NOW? Pay for it with adwords.

Guaranteed back link with Google: Any back link within an article submitted to ezinearticles. Start writing. In fact, I have an article ready to go when I build a new site, the FIRST thing that gets indexed for me is any link that I have up there. Then start hitting up all the other article sites with high PR.

Active and high PR blog or forum comments tend to be found real fast by Google.

Wadda ya know, all these methods take time to do.
