Google update - plausible cause of rankin drop.

So recently noticed that google updated its ranking factors and I’ve lost pretty much a lot of traffic and site visitors. Business is not running very slow or maybe it’s the change of weather.

But I was over in the other part of town and decided to google my keyword to see where I ranked for my industry and in the organic search results only local businesses showed up for plumbing. This was both organic and local seo results.

So exactly what’s had happened.
Google has now prioritise local businesses to rank first for local searches. So if you was ranking page one all over the world for a specific keyword. Chances are your no longer ranking all over the world. Your now only ranking no1 locally.

Here’s another thing I found. An interesting hack.
Is to have multiple landing pages on your website for specific locations in your town and cities. As many pages for as many postcodes as possible.
It seems google is using the keywords in the pages which relates to the location in which the people searching is based to bring up relevant results.

Keywords will fall if there not localised. I’ve seen.
Am planning on building localised pages for my site.

For local services this might give a boost, but what about the general niches? "Plumber in some village" and "how to replace the tap yourself" should be different requests. You need plumber in some village, but there is no matter where you are if you want to replace to on your own. But seems like Google update influenced all this requests.

I thought there is one other thread going on about latest google update?

You are not alone mate, my traffic drop almost 90%. getting worse everyday. SERP dancing like crazy.

Google more focus on location now even with organic searches. There focusing on local businesses and the nearest regardless of da/pa. My ranking dropped too 75%. I’ve had to switch to adwords.

Am now in the process of adding multiple landing pages for as many locations as possible. This new google update has massively affected business.

google expect everything.

many social pages from many web 2.0, good followers, good comments.
strong backlinks.
good content. (( proven facts))
good keywords.
very good SEO optimized.
video and images.
strong domain name clean.

then your be on track.

everything you have said it has been for years.

it always good seo practice to divide local area to single domains .

there no change in my worldwide keywords .

there also no change in my local keywords.

i think you need to just keep up with seo trends m8 .


if you beat the comp your always be top .

All my sites with good content and strong backlinks were hit by this update... news sites with quality and unique content that dropped 30 or even 50% ..
What you are saying it is not the solution, google seems to rank now old websites with outdated content, i say that because i also have websites with outdated content that got serious traffic update.. It is weird

My all keywords ranking drop in google search engine last 4 months. Now what i do to improve ranking?
