Google is changing from a search engine product to Google's own website. Like how we monetize our site, Google is monetizing his site. He can place banners, knowledge panel, tabs and menus, and much more on the above-fold. Our sites are showing below the fold most of the time. Maybe search results can be thrown to 2nd place graveyard and PPC will be the best friend of Google.

Unfortunately it's been like this for a while, mate.
Only the older of us will remember that the WWW once existed without all this control and dominance.
All the youngsters feel it's completely fine to hand out most % of their earnings to Google.
Those of us who saw the early WWW with all the freedom that came with it, had a unique view into the real WWW without Facebook, Google or even Amazon. Everyone else is in the Matrix.
