Google update again?!

I'm seeing some movement in the right direction, first time since the update in August tanked my website. Most terms that rose up are low volume kw's though... Hopefully this trend continues and some of the bigger keywords come back from oblivion.

Something is definitely going on. I'm seeing massive recovery for my main website that was hit last August. 25 keywords recovered from "out of top 100" positions to near "last august" position and the trend is very positive.
Wow. Hope this stick though. If it sticks then we can do some recap and check what was done in the meantime to see if it helped.
 
One of my sites was hit hard in the August/September updates, and is now starting to return to almost pre-update levels of traffic. Also, generally much higher quality serps for the particular niche as a several of my competitors w\ good-to-great content are starting to rank again as well. Kind of makes you wonder what the hell the point of these last few months was.
 
couple of folks here pointed out some major sites that are legitimately authoritative in their niche and showed that they have lost traffic because of google updates in august. maybe these companies threatened google with lawsuits and google finally rolled back their crap medic update or what ever they did over the last few months. and no, it was probably not the lawsuit that got google to change, but their engineers realized that something was wrong over the last few months and authoritative sites should not have lost their ranking. more of a logic 2x4 hitting them on their head.

if my assumption is correct, maybe, just maybe, google is giving more weight to the domain authority now. just my 2 cents

There's next to no content on it, just Amazon affiliate links and a tiny blurb at the bottom of the page.

I'm not sure why Google is pushing sites like this up to the top. The more annoying part ia that Amazon is doing nothing about these sites having such sparse content but having their affiliate links on it.

Looks like they are paying someone well at Bustle. :)
 
My two sites that got hit in August received a boost in ranking now. All my other sites lost a little bit of ranking, but nothing critical.

Hopefully this "broad update" is fixing what they messed up in Medic update.

Same situation on my side :)
 
oh my nipples :(

So a few days before the update my keyword jumped to position 18 and was there for a good 4 days (previous position was 38)

And 1 day after the update it went back to position 38.. I did send a lot of link mix lately and this might be a Google Danshe with the update.

All I'm hoping for here is to get a bigger boost than the previous boost by the end of the month.

Seeing large recovery that is continuous. My SERP tool only refreshes every 24h, but for the past 3 days new keywords have been returning back to top 100.
They recovering keywords are from different articles, so indeed looks like a "domain level" sort of penalty that is lifting. Hope it sticks though. Keeping fingers crossed.

I would say that they simply reverted the last big update.
I did absolutely nothing with the YMYL site in the picture (no links, no new content, basically I didn't touch it), and it seems that the rankings came back to where they were back in summer 2018.

Was thinking the same. Traffic is not back to where it was pre August (still about 50% down), but rankings are coming back while I did absolutely nothing, haven't even published a new post. So, did Google screw up and basically robbed us of 7 months worth of traffic...?
 
Hi Mates,

I think to google updated the algorithm last week, and they did not named yet for the algorithm, due to the changes of an algorithm the SEO rank will fluctuate.

The last week update didn't effect any of my site ranking.
Is there any official announcement about the update?
 
My main site page views drop by half. on the other hand my new website got a significant visitor boost but SERP not moving. no idea what is going on.
