Here's what happened to me,
On August 1, there was a huge boost on my traffic and my revenue has doubled! Of course I was very surprised but I already convinced myself that it's only temporary. The next day, my websites got the same amount of traffic and revenue so I began having hopes that it's going to be stable. I didn't update my websites and my websites keep on getting the same huge boost of traffic. There was some fluctuations like 280k impressions became 260k then 240k, but it didn't bother me. My websites maintained the huge amount of traffic although it was gradually decreasing as days go by. Traffics were still going great for my websites until the afternoon of August 5. Evening of the same day, there was a huge drop on my traffic! It's like going back to the amount of traffic I was getting before the huge boost. It bothered me as I was already accustomed to the increase of traffic that my websites just experienced. What I did first was do a crawl request through google search console. Now from my usual 160k impression, it dropped to 120k.

Boosting websites manually is not a fair thing to do. While I do agree that authority websites (in most cases) deserve higher rankings, it totally defeats the purpose of having a dynamic algorithm in the first place and it also kills all chances of small sites to advance. Where is google heading? To become DMOZ#2 and manually review each site and determine their position in SERP?
