Google Trends scraper is ready - Beta invitation here!

Hey, wov, the tool looks good and clean. However, I will have to verify the results with actual G. Will report on how accurate it is.
How do you develop such applications ? I am a Mainframe programmer, but would be glad if u can share some pointers on how u do such stuff ! - Thanks

seosutra: Lots of curl to fetch the data and some sql/php to organize everything. running a script every hour to collect the data.

Update:

Just added a new function so you'll see directly which trends are increasing or decreasing in popularity. The ">" arrow means it's unchanged from the last hour, and the star (*) means that it's new (and therefor no increase/decrease yet.)

Hope you'll find it useful:

p.s. working on a pdf file with some more information on how to actually make money with google trends/adsense. Will hopefully be able to post it here before tomorrow (As a christmas gift! ) :)

NEW FEATURE:

Just finished working with something I call "My trends". The database is approaching over 2000+ unique search trends - which is cool in one way, but in another it becomes harder to keep track of different keywords and search term.

So... I've now enabled all users to create their own lists with interesting keywords. + Email alerts so you'll know when something happens with the keywords you're tracking.

Here's what it looks like and how it works:

1. Go to detailed overview of any search term / trend and click "Add to My trends".

2, 3. Save the keyword and select if you want email updates (Trendfetch will mail you whenever the term comes back to google trends). If you haven't registered with email you'll be able to add your email.

step2-3.jpg

4. With email alerts you'll recieve an email for each trend you track. I'll look something like this:

5. Change settings any time under "My Trends"; where you'll be able to save as many search terms as you like.

Looks like this could be very useful for a few methods I've used. Great job. Surprised your just giving it away.

Hehe ... well maybe i'll offer some super ninja premium version in the future but i dont know. glad i can help! :)

Thanks guys. I have a question for you:

If I would charge for trendfetch, just IF, how much would you be willing to pay? What's this kind of service worth to the public if, let's say, a few more features was offered?

Thanks Superman. This should work for a good strategy. Just need to be able to match the traffic with some good offers.

I will be giving you some feedback.

Dave

This is awesome, I was looking for an excuse to take a stab at google trends :)

Thanks guys,

Keep the feedback coming. And make sure you check out the "My Trends"-section in case you haven't.

I've checked out what people are tracking and please keep in mind that you'll have to find a trend FIRST, and THEN register that you want to track it.

I've seen people submitting that they wish to track like "business", which isn't really possible.

I think you'd have to change it into some sort of online keyword tool to make it more valuable I think...but leave the basic version free, with limited features.

very staight forward..great share that even a noob like me understands..thanks very much
