Google software engineers have a new coworker: AI

They will review and clean the code **by a lot** before putting it into production.
They use AI to generate the draft to save some typing time and/or document look-up time, which is exactly the best use case of AI.

They still need very talented software engineers to review/refactor the AI-generated code; it doesn't mean AI is doing all the job.

that's exactly why AI isn't taking over any time soon

You are absolutely right. But problem is human laziness.

After few years you will see man/programmer/worker will think, why would I waste time on reviewing while it can be done by AI itself?

They will build a model and let AI to make its own model once. As we have seen that AI already learned things by itself.

And then the whole thing will be a massacre.
