Hi everyone. Please help me understand. There is a site in the adult niche. The site was created 9 months ago.In the first two months began to rank for some keywords after that it fell to 0. The site can now be found only if you enter site:domain in the search. Can you please tell me if this is a sandbox effect or a penalty from Google?

Its Penalty as per your description

You can use tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and third-party SEO tools to gather data and identify potential issues.

Penalty... swapping domain name should help.

Since you first started to rank in the first two months this is actually quite normal.

Using purely white-hat SEO techniques it's not unusual for site builders to see an initial spike after two to three months and then it would flatline.

A lot of my sites experience the same pattern. You should pay attention to the six to nine month time frame to see if you get a nice increase in traffic.

I'm not saying that you're going to get all of a sudden get a massive surge, but there should be some sort of improvement.

Again this all depends on the niche you're in.

Some niches are more competitive than others but generally speaking the time frame that you should look for when it comes to traffic real traffic from SEO is six to nine months.

Some niches take much longer others don't take much time at all.

That's when you should start looking at manual penalties or any kind of algorithmic penalty.

The sandbox is real but it depends on niche.

It depends on how your site is set up and and there are many other factors to it but there is this dampening effect.

I've run and I continue to run a lot of websites and I'll be the first to tell you that there is a sandbox.

After creating it, we immediately started promoting it with backlinks
Google doesn't allow backlink building. They want only organic backlinks. And a newly built site will likely not get any backlinks for a while. So, in Google's eyes, it is very suspicious (not to say it is a clear case) that you did link-building from the beginning, which can result in a penalty.
