Google releasing a large update today

It's not a penalty, your keywords and mostly long tail keywords are outranked by spam from pinterest, google books, and other shitty content. When the glitch happened those spam disappeared and the traffic was back to normal for a few hours.
I think so, not today but since yesterday.

I've a feeling that they will introduce a new update by mid of september and fix their mistakes this time.

I am so glad that that is happening because I have been a google user for as long as I ca remeber. Google is like the only searh engine and company that I trust to hold all of my details because as much as they show me non-stop ads they do not interfere with me.

Possibly, overall my traffic today is up 35% from 7 days ago. On an hourly basis, it looks ugly, a couple of hours with high traffic, and then a sudden drop. I'm not holding my breath as with the May 2020 update my traffic initially went up and a couple of days later down the drain. No updates were done to the website as I'm moving on to different opportunities not relying on G traffic.

I dropped the ranking last 3 days
I have done an extra test on one of my posts. Added 2 youtube videos, 3 outbound links pointing to high authority, got a backlink from Wikipedia ( that link created 10+ more backlinks for that post because other wiki sites are scraping English Wikipedia). Added backlinks to root domain ( pbn, nice edits, few gust posts, 10 backlinks from google play store).
After all that I dropped rank on that post.
I am in a small niche. I will wait for the next core update because now it's a waste of time.

If google was not around then I do ot know where we would be right now because android is a very important operating system in my life. I hope that the update has some new features that will make google even better. I also hope that they improve on their as because sometimes they are kind of anoying.

Let's say the search term was 'buy widgets online.' So after this update the #1 was a government site with info about widgets. But guess what? No widgets for sale! In fact ,you had to roll over onto page 2 to find any site selling widgets. Before the update, they had it spot on - every site on page 1 had widgets for sale. This update is not about improving search results. It's all about optinmising them to enhence Google's monetizing.

It's interesting. My top ranking keywords are doing fine but the ones that were page 4+ are dropping out of the top 100. Traffic dropped off a bit overall.

Yeah that's exactly what I am thinking. No matter what i do, ranking remains the same. I think they added some kind of filter to prevent serp gains to those sites affected by last core update. So SEOs won't find what happened to their site. It's like a check mate. We have to wait till next update.
