I will work on this as well. BUT the funny fact is: Backlinko did a test regarding the page speed and rankings and they've found out: no correlation?! How is this possible?

Site speed appears to be the fix for me.

It's obviously early, but after fixing site speed a couple of days ago, I'm seeing an immediate boost, as shown in the image.

I don't think so, from all my sites, the sites with HORRIBLE site speed, recovered almost completely in the last few days...

I am seeing sites just filled with ads ranking high. Basically these sites doesn't care about any user experience. One page has 5-8 ads. And cannot be even loaded in a device with slow internet connection. So saying that improving site speed may improve the rankings isn't much applicable.
 
When can this fucking garbage core algorithm update be completed in May? I have lost nearly 80% of my traffic. FUCK GOOGLE

I just turned off ads on my website to test it out and see whether or not this has a big effect on the rankings.

One of my competitors doesn't run any ads and he too took a 40% drop in traffic lol while other competitors saw a 10% or less drop in traffic. I'm really confused on what sort of ranking factors google used for this update. Because I am seeing both really big authority websites like facebook, reddit rank to the top, but also shitty thin content no name websites with little backlinks and lower domain rating rank above me.

Assuming my site makes it out of this update alive and recovers its rankings, I'm gonna double down on youtube and my mailing list to capture as much leads as possible so that this doesn't ever happen again. I'm also gonna create 1 more website in about 2 months down the line from now.

I also created another website as a backup due to the Feb update that dropped my traffic but its still stuck in the sandbox for another 3 months :(

We've found the problem (we think) and it's related to E-A-T. Content created by people with hands on actual experience of the subject their writing about haven't been effected. Google has demoted sites where it's allegorically clear the author has no expertise on the subject.
 
Anyone here have troubles indexing new posts via Google Webmaster after the update? Like you cannot find your post anywhere on Google when you search manually but when you submit it through the inspection tool it shows that it is indexed? Also almost 80% of the old posts have disappeared for a week and more but all categories are still indexed. It is not some kind of penalty cause this is pretty new website but idk what is actually happening. I have tried searching with unique sentences from the articles but still cannot find some of the posts. I have resubmitted separately post, page and category sitemap and also the full sitemap.xml but still nothing. No errors found during the fetching too.

I'd have to disagree. I've seen plenty of websites without any EAT ranking for keywords totally unrelated to their niche or crappy websites without any evidence of eat.
I have a youtube channel with over 5k subs, other social media presence, along with a good amount of user engagement ie.comments on my blog meanwhile I got shutterstock, gettyimages, facebook ranking above my site for my niche, plus some random website from a totally unrelated niche ranking above me. Also a good chunk of my competitors have no evidence of EAT other than starting a blog 1-2 years before me and if that's google's definitely of EAT then they fucked up!
 
Sometimes time will resolve. I remember last year my website also dropped after an update but about a month later everything was fine. I just need to do my job as well as before.

And how would Google know the difference? I know a website with content written by an expert in his field with original photos, tests et cetera which has being severely hit by this update.

So how would you go about improving this on a wordpress site? Include an author bio to every article?

May I ask what exactly did you fix? The Pagespeed metrics? FID? TTI? Can you elaborate?

Read a lot about this last days and that may be the truth, but what about news sites?

I run a news site, most of my news were related to corona in the last 2 months - I lost around 80% of traffic until now.
 
google is drunk. IMO it started ranking forums higher than sites cus forums have more related content. but you will never produce as much related content as big forums do (they have like 10000+ related threads, can be even more)
