Google releasing a large update today

Hey guys,

This will deviate a little from the original theme, but is still related to the Google update cause is about the indexing issue we are all facing right now...

I wanted to buy some links and I asked a BHW vendor if he was having the same indexing issue that most SEOs are having...

HE SAID HE HAD NO ISSUES AT ALL BECAUSE ALL LINKS HE'S BUILDING ARE SHOWING ON AHREFS...

Here is what I answered to him:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The thing is If ahrefs or majestic show the links it means they found the links, it proves that the links are there...

But it doesn't necessarily mean that Google found and indexed the links, right?

For example, about 2 weeks ago I just got 20 posts created in really high authority sites, I mean sites with DR 60-80 and none of them are indexed yet, none of them.

But when I check my money site on ahrefs I find most of the links... And it is to be expected because the links are in fact there, right?

In this case, we go back to square one, if Google does not index the links there's no value, even if the links are there..."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you guys think about this?

if google doesnt index the links then theyre not "high authority". theyre next to useless. why would a link that barely has power to index itself (or that doesnt have power to index at all) help your site rank?..

You're missing the point completely, I know what I good link is, I've been doing SEO for over 10 years, what I'm talking about here is that there is no point on building links now because Google is not indexing almost anything... Even if the links show on ahrefs...

youre saying like google wont index them later and that creating them will be wasted work.

Just because the links are showing in ahrefs it doesn't mean ANYTHING. For the links to give you some value they MUST be indexed by google. And more importantly, stay there in the long run. Initially, links may be indexed by google, but if after a week, two, or a month as the mini algos evaluate them and the content and they are no longer indexed, they are basically useless. If that's the case, just hope that google ignores them and they don't have a negative impact on your website. Once again, people overestimate services like ahrefs thinking if a link is there they are good to go. It's not true. They are good for finding links, however, if Google likes them or not it's a different story.
BTY, most (link) sellers will tell you what you need to hear to make a sale, use your brain to evaluate it if it's true.

You are simply right

Ahrefs and Moz detects any type of links
That means they don't check on page SEO and content and decide to index their links or not
They simply pick any links and add them to the list
Unlike Google, which has too many other factors deciding which page should be indexed and which not

Normally, Ahrefs and Moz can detect the links even sooner than google,
So, even if the link is not indexed yet and found on Moz or Ahrefs, it might be that google crawler didn't check it yet, even if it's less probably

Howerver, for the current situation, it's totally different
Google have an update and everything sounds like a mess, especially the indexing

I'm able to index some links of a website using different Google accounts
That means, when i add the website to G account 1, it doesn't get indexed even if it's shows it's crawled
But, when i add it to G account 2, it gets indexed normally

The results of my research confirm this.

With a confidence level of 83%, we can say that the "Winners" has the following basic general parameters:
* The number of words per page is less than 600.
* The number of images per page is less than 23.
* Ahrefs Domain Rating greater than 44.5.

Interesting, can you check the speed test of the sites you have targeted?
The parameters that you suggest seems to indicate that the sites look "light", with potentially fast loading.

almost 2 weeks have passed. my ranking has not gone back to what it was before. anyone has seen a reversal?

I have seen a recovery today. Not as it used to be, but its something

Hope tomorrow will be a good day

Not on my side either, in fact, in the past few days, my keywords have been dancing like crazy, plus, minus 30 every 12 hours, worse than at the beginning of the May 4th, 2020 update. Traffic is down as well, don't know if it's because of COVID-19 or 'google dance'. Apparently 1/4 of the American workforce is out of jobs, that's my primary market, don't know to what extent its google update or just people not buying (or not searching) because they don't have the money to spend. 1/4 of the workforce out of the job is a huge number. I saw a big spike in traffic when the first support checks of $1,200 were sent a few weeks ago. Apparently a second round is coming soon if I don't see a boost in my traffic I'll know for sure it's google update.
And no, my website has nothing to do with COVID-19 or anything that relates to it.

is there a new #1 site in your niche? if so, what are its characteristics?

All of the winners who rose to No. 1 and No. 2 with the update are full of spam links.
I think GooGIe is testing something. May ai regain consciousness.

With far less resources ahrefs and semrush are able to find links and Google is not!!!! Wow that is a new low even for google.

Anyway, Google isn't indexing anything anymore. Over 50 posts are published since the last 10 days in about 70+ sites which we look upon. None are showing in the SERP's. And these sites are from several categories, including several types of link profiles.

There is some problem with the indexing for sure.

I have lost hope already. Since the update I've been losing keywords. Went from 2.6k keywords in the beginning of May to 1.9k now. Everyday I'm losing like 50 new keywords that my website was ranking for. If it goes this way then my site will disappear from Google till June XD

Noob Question. What would you guys suggest to do strategy wise for creating a new website, with this new google update?
