I'm new to Android Apps and I'm interested to know how Google Play rank apps.

1. I found "Trending" apps in my country have only 500 download. So I found some online service that offer 500 download for 50$ (they offer country targeting). Is it really that simple to get your app Trending?

2. If I launch free beta app and pay 50$ for 500 downloads, and get app Trending, can I change app so other users need to pay for download?

3. Does "Trending" category on Google Play works only for countries or it work for states, cities, regions?

hi

in general google takes those 4 metrics to rank an app in google play store

1_ level of usage

2_ amount of downloads

3_ rating

4_reviews received

but, now google play will focuse more in level of usage and how much time users spend on your application,

so...the apps you see in the trending category, are new apps just published snd received installs in the first hours of publishing... that's why app owners buy install just after the release of the app,

Try to see the same top on some friend device, because sometimes Google make a personalized rank for every user based on apps installed on the past and searches.

I want to promote my apps (google play and app store) by keywords.

in case you also wanted your app be featured by App Store/ Google Store - you need to promote it decently.

It's well-known that Store ranking algorithm works on not transparent rules and principles, but there are generally accepted factors which can affect the algorithm and be on top charts or be featured.

The main factors are:

1. The velocity of installs

2. the number of installs

3. keywords

4. ASO
