Google Link Spam Update - Is off page Dead?

This will likely only affect you if you're buying your links for $5 from fiverr. Link buying will never die at this point, it's too integral to SEO as a whole. The update will only impact where you buy your links from.
Most of the sellers on Fiverr are selling spammy links if you look into those links then you will see that 90% of the links are spammy.

Precisely, yes. There are some exceptions for PR guest posting but those don't usually cost $5.

All the backlink sellers here on BHW will say "no keep buying backlinks, google does not know what they are doing", lol. They will try every single thing to save their business from dying.

The only thing Google can do is rely on certain metrics, it's basic data analysis.

If you're buying links from a website that sells a ton of them, in an obvious way, then there is a high probability Google will catch on to that, sooner or later. Webmasters that sell a lot of guest posts have already been getting outgoing link notices, this is nothing new. The algorithm is going to get better at detecting these types of paid link schemes.

If you're careful in your selection from where you buy links then Google will never have a way to tell if a link is paid or not. Basically, anything that is high quality and mimics a natural link, and is not sold in bulk, is going to retain its value.

You just have to not buy links from garbage link farms. What is identified as a link farm is what Google is going to work on and they will get better at detecting these. It will never be 100% accurate, and as long as you buy HQ links, you will surpass this filter.

Remember that links are not the ONLY ranking factor (like they once used to be) you also need good content. Focus on good content and good links. You do not need a ton of links to rank, so do not overdo this. High quality, fewer links, better content that addresses the search intent.

off page SEO won't be going dead easily. It's super difficult even for humans to detect the difference between a natural backlink or a bought backlink if the link is naturally placed in the content.

google just gonna crazy nothing else. its hardest to find link is natural or paid. Link is Link you call it spam or no matter what. you just focus on your Parts lets Google Play

So far my legit website (with natural PR links) has been hit hard, while the ones I bought spammy links for are up. I wonder if this will change after it's complete :)

One of my websites took a nosedive from this update.

are you brain dead? the post said you don't need a ton of links to rank, that is if you do everything else right.
my not, your yes. you need tons of good links for rank. amazon, walmart, ebay and etc as example.
