Google learns spoken voices for videos

I saw this thread at other forum,

You are getting into Google Universal here - if you have a website with a video intro based on anchor text/keywords then there is an excellent chance that your site may get higher SERP - BUT and this is probably the most controversial thing I have ever posted in Warriors - it does depend on the spoken voice. Google is after clear concise English - it is learning to read the spoken word and look for keywords - its the same technology that the Banks are using on their telephone question systems.

Can anyone clarify the truth in this, since the poster didn't reply back.

Yea this is old news, They had a demo up a while ago where you could see a transcript of the video

There is some truth in that post, but, as with most things, he is misinformed or doesn't quite understand the process. Google created Goog411 to train spoken language processing algorithms. One of the many purposes of this sort of training is to parse audio from videos. Whether or not this sort of natural, spoken language processing will have an effect on rankings or will add to the indexed content of a website anytime in near future is anyone's guess. However, it is reasonable to assume that sometime soon, spoken language will be parsed and indexed in a way similar to how written language is now.

I see, thanks for the info, so I guess slideshows won't do any good if the parsing algorithm applied, unless if there is an algorithm to parse texts in videos.
