Google Keyword Tool Question

Hi, I would just like to confirm that the keywords here are getting 8,100 and 5,400 each because all the keywords are VERY similar, say one or two words different. It just makes a difference between 27,000ish searches and 8000.

Very creative. You're telling us to CONFIRM the results and not letting us know the keywords?

Why dont you hide those numbers as well?

As per your stats yes...! so what about the keyword you searched for....! Make it a post then we too will have a look at it....!

Sorry, I had difficulty putting it into words. According to google's stats, does that mean each one of those keywords would receive the prescribed number in the global and local columns? The only reason I am questioning this is that each keyword is only a letter or two different from the previous and I was wondering if they included one another's keywords.

Hopefully that makes more sense.

In regards to "originalposter" and "morgan456", I understand were your coming from. But if my keywords are good at all, I'm just inviting strong competition

Theoretically yes, but in practice it won't i'm pretty sure about it.

Think about it this way:

Basketball and Basketballt only have one letter difference.

One has 673,000 global monthly searches and the other has around 10.

It might not seem a lot - one or two letters - but clearly when it comes to the amount of people punching those specific keywords (spelling errors and all) into a search engine, you shouldn't be surprised that the differential in traffic is enormous.

Sorry, I really seem to be having trouble explaining this well, that's not exactly the point I was making, however, you have indirectly answered it for you

For example, my keywords are something like this.

basketball hoop - 8,700
basket ball hoop - 8,700
basket ball hoops - 5,400
basketball hoops - 5,400

I was just wanting to check that because the keywords "basket ball hoop" and "basketball hoop" are so similar, that google wouldn't interpret them as 'basically the same' and raise the searches of one to match the other because of their similarity.

Hopefully that makes more sense now.

However, as I said, you have managed to confirm my hypothesis.
