Google is Warning about Comment Spamming | Must Read

Google has the history of inconsistency with Mat Cutts lies so I doubt..

A comment is only Spam is it is not relevant to the post, is poorly written or adds little value.

Rule 1 - read the freaking post before commenting.
Rule 2 - don't put your keywords in the name, just be happy with a PR5 link to John Doe. Get enough PR5 links and you'll rank for anything you put in your title tags !

All it takes is a little thought to get quality links from PR5 and PR6 blog pages.

Do you know why did they published this? To frighten the spammers, because in reality they can't do nothing about it....

As it was with nofollow links etc... just some bullshit to diverse the webmasters. If spamming links would hurt, there would be no competition on the internet - only the best spammer :)

Regardless of if you can get away with blog spam or not, i think it would be a good diea not to spam blogs anyway as it can have a negative effect on your site so it's not worth it.

However, i think if you hunt down good blogs in your niche then commenting on the blog will be a useful tactic.

if in doubt, do it properly

I have a penalized site from blog spam and since the update a site that has relied on directory submissions has also been penalized(although the jury could still be out yet).

Comment spam exists for years and it still works because bot is not smart enough to tell which link is a spam and which one is not, it can improve but it will never be able to decode spam in perfect way thats why comment spam will always work, in this degree or another.

The bot's smart enough to say "comment link? nofollow even if it's do fo llow"

Yes, the bot can probably devalue the link, but it cannot penalize you. Otherwise you could hammer your competition.

with xrumer is around, google will not sleep well either..hahaha

Oh no the sky is falling!!!!
Were all going to die!!!!
All online business is going to stop!!!
Seriously, this is BHW even on the small chance the implement a major change (doubt it) we will find a way around it. For a sec I thought I was back at DP LOL

I believed it until I started reading everyone's comments about killing competition by spamming blogs with their website.

This would be WAY too easy to take advantage, there's no way Google will do this!

They said in the article the links would be DEVALUED, not penalized. And I agree, Google cries wolf much of the time. It is propaganda to get you to stop based on a threat since they have no power to stop it themselves.

I think it's a bunch of BS designed by the likes of Matt Cutt's to scare the hell out of the community (as if anybody is really intimidated by his crap)

This is why I only think of doing comment spam to gain links to my articles or sites I wouldn't mind if they lost rankings - a gamble if you will.

Whitehat links to your main website + some articles

Blackhat links to linkwheels + some unique articles + any spun articles + websites that are not your bread and butter.

You won't go far wrong then.
