Google is *CHANGING* and so should you.

I tried my hand at link wheels with my team here in the Philippines. I even built a website for the purpose of finding work in this field. It was a failure. I couldn't see any link juice being passed along. We even used articles linking to the properties. Still very little movement. Sure some of the bookmarks showed up on the 1st page but that was short lived. We bookmarked, ran RSS feeds and pinged them and the Web 2.0 also. Again, not allot of movement.

We took the link wheel apart and ran a T type framework. The hub in the T did ok and really better than in the link wheel. We built up the hub with back links and comments etc. I remember just a year ago when we could dominate the 1st page so much easier.

We start launching our SEO campaign on our new website www.googlesandroids.com tomorrow to get it indexed quickly and to get it on the 1st page. Honestly, this is going to take allot of work to do this and it will take most of my staff too.

I know the old methods do not have the power they used to. Hell do you really think you are getting the full link juice in a bookmark nowadays? Think again. I know I have to build social networks around my website if I want to succeed. Google calls it Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) and so on. One social network I will use is the Ning Network. This guy has a Ning Network for his site: http://cheezburger.com/. His site is very popular and he is somewhat of a celebrity. They have around 1,000 other websites they are looking at to promote.

Most of this work is done by hand. The book marking, pinging and RSS feed submissions can be done with SEnuke, some work can be done with Market Samurai and some with Scrapebox. But it has to be in moderation. And, really scrapebox is not the magic panacea for getting your website on the 1st page of Google. You can get better results by using script for Google searches found in this forum and commenting on quality blogs, websites and forums by hand. Quality vs Quanitity.

In the end, if your in the game for the long run you have to use moderation. Google may not sandbox you but allot of places like Ning for example can delete your account. If your building a quality network with Ning you don't want to lose all the work you have put into it.

In terms of unique content check this out: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=black+hat+world&start=10&sa=N&fp=bcdf8cbbf06dc4f
Look at the following:

articlebase.com
blackhat-world.weebly.com
blackhatworld.ning.com

Does it look similar? They are on the 2nd page now and with a little more coaxing they will be on the 1st page!

Yes my team did this work and it was time consuming even using spun content. And we made sure to integrate Facebook and Twitter wherever we could on all our blogs and every blog has an RSS feed. LSI! It's the big picture I believe that Google is taking into consideration nowadays.

As for those marketers who are into slash and burn and quick money they are not concerned about losing accounts and so on. But in my opinion even they will have to work allot harder now. And the so called "Experts" who have regurgitated the same old crap over and over again, they will have actually get out and work and find better ways to compete the big G. Or of course they can continue to steal from the real SEO pros like they have always done.

Also, has anyone noticed that is seems easier to get good positions with Yahoo now?

Nice thread, I enjoyed reading it immensely

Just my Humble Opinion

After reading this, it feels as if Google will start matching word by word of all the articles.Believe it or not but being a writer I know that two people who are writing on the same topic can really write overlapping content without even ever reading others article.Who will then be considered original by Google??

Google is no different than any other business out there trying to perfect their model in order to remain
relevant and competative. You can't fault them for that.

Once upon a time the internet was a new frontier and almost everything being published was fresh and unique.
First came the keyword and title stuffing that google eventually invalidated, then came the next generation of
spinners, the random content generators, the link farms, the autoblogs, the automated directory spammers,
article submitters etc.

And it all worked great for a while, and to some extent it still does when done correctly by those who know
what they're doing and have the experience to do it correctly, but the effort needed to produce results is
becoming greater and greater as google adjusts and tweaks their algorithms. As one poster said it's a cat and
mouse game, where for every move google makes one must adjust their own strategy to match, which boils down
to finding what they are valuing most at any given moment by continually testing and probing them. Instead many
people are simply content to create the same threads over and over about how to create a linkwheel, how to
submit to a link/article directory, yada yada..

There's a lot of good information on these forums by some very intelligent posters who occasionally take the time to
talk about more advanced concepts and new ideas. The other day one of the new mods SEO20 shared a beautiful
script on here that could easily be embedded on your site and silently redirect traffic to a handful of other websites
to increase views on those pages, without the visitor even leaving the initial page or realizing he had visited the other pages.

Things like that are a work of art, but many times after a few posts the threads end up spiraling out of control when
the monkeys get out of their cages and the conversation inevitably turns to 'blasting' and 'nuking' or new posters
demanding every last step be explained in detail. It's a shame really.

Can you please point to that thread where seo20 posted the script ?

Google is definitely changing, and it always will be.

I can say for a fact that taking an extra 30min or so a week to keep my eye on Google has made things in my business much easier. It allows me to not only know what changes I should be making within my business, it also keeps me ahead of most of the competition because the majority of marketers don't take the time to pay attention to Google and even the other SEs.

It looks as if there will be another big shift coming in Google as far as content categorization goes that will probably have an impact on quite a few people's rankings. I've have seen them testing this more and more over the past month, and I'm sure it will be out within this year.

Keeping your eye on Google, the other SEs, and what they are doing is something you must do in this business.

I would really like to know the best places to keep an eye. I recently started subscribing to RSS for SE Land, SE Watch, G00gle Web Master Guidelines and a few others.

I read too much stuff only from here. I love this place but gives me info overload too much.

;)

Who gives a shit what google does? It's about driving traffic as you wish from the places you can.
Btw,if your links doesn't bring any traffic alone, than you are probably in spamming SE area and you can bet that this is-or will be-part of any SE algorithm.

Have tried scrapebox still using it and some other techniques.

Now 2 weeks ago I launched my swiss website, bought a swiis ch domain, put is on a cheap german based server hosting account.

Ran scarpebox with the 30k list to get indexed. This drive a lot of crap traffic but got me indexed.
The swiss page is really only a front page and have some pages i call wiki pages that are optimzed for a certain keyword.

For this new domain I have no backlinks except the 30k indexing list from scrapebox.
After 2 weeks I am on pos 5 and 6 for 100k keyword.

The site also links to my main german .de domain money site and this has gone up from pos 8 to 7.

I Holland I had the same. Registered 16 domains, put them on 4 unique ip's and made a linkwheel. This also upped my ranking and even more stange 1 or 2 of these linkwheeel domains rank higher than my main domain that has more backlinks.

I have seem a german competitor do the same. The create dozens of domains that are only 1 page that that 10 links to they money site. So far they dominate.

To me this does sound that google is looking for more relevant links.

Useless thread.

If you're building quality diversified links, you don't have anything to worry about.

I agree to some extent with the OP.

Google has always been about Unique Content + Backlinks. That prob won't change for a long time if ever.

I also think there has to be a balance with how much credit we give Google. We shouldn't disrespect it, but at the same time we shouldn't fear that it is some omnipotent being that is always looking over our shoulder.

At the end of the day, Google is imperfect, it has flaws, and will always have flaws that can be exploited.

With regards to spamming, spinning etc. all of that still works if you know what you are doing.

I liken the use of automation tools to cooking.

Anyone can buy quality ingredients (Scrapebox, Xrumer, AMR, SEnuke, Magic Submitter, BMD etc), however it is ultimately the skill of the person cooking that determines whether the end result is a gourmet dinner or dog food (SE results).

I agree with the OP totally, Google is sorting the wheat from the chaff, we all need to step our game up.
Content is still king if its unique and informative, links are essential but more doesn't mean better. For a few $ I can buy thousands of links, that was unheard of not long ago.
Every year it will get harder to rank new sites that have nothing 'new' to offer IMHO
and as long as G. keeps it's monopoly we will all have to dance to it's tune.

How long before SERP results come with a FB like?

Even on auto approve blog lists I will write a 8 or 10 comments that are on target for the domain I am promoting.

I couldn't agree with the thread starter more.

We love the internet. Why would we fill it so full of shit that it becomes useless.

I don't even like articles that have been spun and not edited by a human.
