Hey guys how can you tell if your site has been sandboxed or is in the process of G dance? I have a pretty new site that went up to the 5th page for my keywords and it stayed there for a few days and now that I'm building backlinks (6 backlinks out of 22 indexed), it went missing. I checked if my site has been de-indexed but it's still there just nowhere to be found.

Hope you guys can share your thoughts about it.

It's most likely just a dance. Give it a week to settle. After awhile you will actually do your own dance when you're in a google dance as that means you will most likely be in a better position when you come out.

Thanks for replying WPbacklinks and Tyler. You're right. My site is back and now with a better ranking. Not on the first page yet but I'm working on it.

Just 1 question, I've been building backlinks to the site but it hasn't moved up the ranking even if majority of the backlinks has already been indexed. What do you think is it?

BTW thanks to all who participated in the poll.

My site was in the shit sandbox for 8 weeks. It was making constant sales before that and i CURSED Google for once again fucking with my finances. I tried everything. Finally, i removed it from webmaster tools by deleting it and removed analytics. 2 days later it was out of the sandbox and its been that way for 2 weeks. So far so good. Its ranking on page #1 for multiple occurances of the keyword. It ranks on page 2, 3 and 4 and its making sales once again.

God i hate Google!

8 weeks? That's long. Mine was nowhere to be found only for three days... I guess the difference between G's sandbox and G's dance is the time you're website is not in the SERPs.
