Google Analytics shows no traffic from Instagram

Hello BHW:

According to my Google Analytics I got some visitors from Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, but none from Instagram.

The strange thing is my instagram account have more followers than the others social networks

The only hypothesis I have is that maybe my photo description aren't enough catchy

My site is an e-Commerce and the template for each photo product looks like this:

[Offer! USD $19.99] - Cute Puppy House Carton Shark Style| BUY on Active Link in BIO ▲▲▲ FREE Shipping Worldwide. Share & Tag a friend who would love this! *20hashtags

I finish the post with 20 hashtag related with the niche.

What can you recommend me to improve click rate on the active link on my BIO and get visitor from Instagram?

Your problem is that it isnt measured as instagram. All your instagram traffic is "Direct Traffic" & not "Social Traffic". So if you look at google analytics, try to look for the actual link that you have posted on instagram. As this will be your referral link. If your referral link is not the actual homepage of your website you should see exactly how much traffic your are getting from instagram as long as that link isnt the same on the other medias.

Or you could create your own referral link with your domain that you only use on instagram.

For Example:

http://yourdomain.com/redirect

Redirects you to:

http://yourdomain.com/

This way, all traffic that you get to http://yourdomain.com/redirect will show on google analytics.

Idk, you could always use goo.gl to track the traffic aswell.

My point is that instagram traffic doesnt show as social media traffic on google analytics.

One more question: Doing that redirect method isn't against Instagram terms? In some place I red isn't good to place links that redirects, but I don't know if this only apply when the redirection is between different domains.

Some sites are allowed and some are not! As long as you arent doing anything spammy i think you should be fine! But you need to find out which redirect works with instagram first. Also keep in mind that some people might avoid clicking the link if it is a redirect, which causes you to loose some visitors or customers.

+ How many followers do you have at this time? If you have more follower, your post will have more viral on top hastag.
+ You only post product photos or photos relative niche. My experience doesn't post more one post about product per day.
