Google Algo & SERP Changes - February 2020

Its high time some rich guys starts a 2nd google.

Clearly another update is going on this weekend. SEMrush is showing above 9.
 
Semrush is showing me gaining a lot of new keywords plus my old ones have increased in rankings yet my traffic has gone down the toilet wtf.

Literally almost the same thing. GSC shows rankings haven't changed, traffic looks okay, but my rankings are spiraling out of control.
 
Google only wants to rank High Authority sites. They increased ranking of some new quality sites in January. But they are stable or not only google can say that.
Anyways, We play the game.
Never stop guys. Keep posting good content to your Website.
Never worry too much about any updates.

Indeed. Traffic has increased for those sites. I have heard this too and saw people reporting this.

Post Jan 15th update you need the following to rank:
  • LOW OBL on your site. Your OBL should be half your actual RD
  • Your LINKs should be from sites with LOW OBL relative to their RD If you get a link from a site with 2000 OBL and 200 OBL google instantly knows you bought from a link farm
  • If you ranking YMYL you NEED to stack a lot of .gov RD, at least 10 on .gov posts to remove YMYL penalty
  • Strong interlinking, can be done with categories and automatic related posts interlinking within category
  • 0% Link exchanges. Okay, so for this one you can get away with a few. But in my analysis sites with 0% LE absolutely killing it right now.
  • <1% Sidebar link RD, sitewide links
  • GMB verification, author meta, EAT

NOTE: all of the above are COFACTORS. You can still rank good if you're missing 1 or 2 of the above. But if you lack multiple that's when new penalties kick in and kick your ass

some other factors that may be an issue but im not 100% sure on is having more affiliate links, or thirsty affiliate redirects in your OBL than your actual OBL.

Being a Newbee and scorned by those in the know I wouldn't have any idea what you're saying here. Is there a version for the less informed?
 
There is nothing serious from my end. Doesn’t seem like a core update.

The January update did bring back some sites who have updated their content and/or get rid of poor quality content & replaced them with atleast good re-written ones.

I still confuse , come to High Authority sites vs normal sites. What it means come so call Authority site? Is about the niche they into ? or with tons of high quality links?
 
Strange surge in traffic since yesterday. Anything else brewing? Probably it would be 'nothing' or 'regular' ones again.
 
What about Google News? How long till "non-approved" websites will start showing up properly?
