Apparently another update is going on. I am hearing that a ton of edu sites were hit since the last 24 hours. And also a couple of astrology sites. SEMrush is also showing indications of high changes. How you guys are experiencing it?

The people I talked to own a couple of edu site. They told me since yesterday some of the sites traffic has doubled literally. But there sales rates has fallen like never before. And the sites whose traffic didn't rose, have fallen into almost zero organic traffic category. As, these sites rankings has fell very hard. From 2nd position of the first page to 5th or 6th page.

New updates every month now? Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle.

I don't have a .edu site, but my site dropped from about 100 exposures/day to literally 0.

This started the 7-9th of January, and haven't had time to take look at it before. But now I noticed that only 4/26 of my pages are showing on Google...

I just submitted all my pages for re-indexing manually, and there are no errors in the search console. Anyone else experienced this?

Nothing out of the ordinary imo, we've seen similar bumps in the previous months that balance out over time.

Updates are not news anymore. They roll out updates like every two weeks.

Google is a complete mess right now. I hope they work on a fix soon.

I've had my main keyword drop from 8 to 30, annoyingly after I'm waiting to see if a load of links I pointed at it have done anything.

Your urls are not showing in the SERP's or they have gotten completely de-indexed? And also which niche is your site in?

Personally I couldn't agree more. But I do need to keep an eye on them. Because money is involved.:P

As a black hat guy how we can stay away from googles shit updates....please any tips...

Black hat or not. If your audience is using google and you are relying on Google for organic traffic. Then you are at the mercy of Google. Its plain and simple.

I think it's appraisal time for Google employees. They're frequently releasing algo updates. The demand for SEO will eventually increase if we figure out what's happening.

They show up in google search console as "indexed" however, when I check "site:mysite.com" on Google. Only 4 show up which means they don't show in SERPs.

Apparently, there are some indexing issues reported that I heard off. But in their case they were totally cut out. You can check in your webmasters tool for those ranking keywords.Check for rank there.

Im not sure Google know whats going on. Three hell of weeks to cover losses, be back on track and fight another stupid change? Im seeing a pattern but I dont see the reasons to shake the cage every month.

They are acting like a Govt. If they are not giving updates then they are not working.

I don't think if anyone at Google fully understands their own algorithm. I believe that they lost track of it after these many changes.

Post Jan 15th update you need the following to rank:
  • LOW OBL on your site. Your OBL should be half your actual RD
  • Your LINKs should be from sites with LOW OBL relative to their RD If you get a link from a site with 2000 OBL and 200 OBL google instantly knows you bought from a link farm
  • If you ranking YMYL you NEED to stack a lot of .gov RD, at least 10 on .gov posts to remove YMYL penalty
  • Strong interlinking, can be done with categories and automatic related posts interlinking within category
  • 0% Link exchanges. Okay, so for this one you can get away with a few. But in my analysis sites with 0% LE absolutely killing it right now.
  • <1% Sidebar link RD, sitewide links
  • GMB verification, author meta, EAT

NOTE: all of the above are COFACTORS. You can still rank good if you're missing 1 or 2 of the above. But if you lack multiple that's when new penalties kick in and kick your ass

some other factors that may be an issue but im not 100% sure on is having more affiliate links, or thirsty affiliate redirects in your OBL than your actual OBL.

Cmmon man, some months ago I said I will not reply to google updates thread, but cmmon. You guys look at google stocks chart to see the influence after every fuckin update when stocks drop a little bit, they fuckin roll update, there, not some extraterrestrial science, is just a money game.
