Google Algo & SERP Changes - February 2020

This doesn't make sense. I'm gaining a lot of new keywords everyday more than I am losing yet my traffic continues to decrease day by day. I'm back to september levels. wtf is going on here.
Also I noticed some of my pages aren't even showing up in the serps even when I requested for it to get indexed.

I think this update effects sites (industry-wise ) because my some sites going good and some are going from first page to 2nd. Can't say specifically but i guess this update more on content quality. I noticed my some of the competitors ranks improved just because of content.

This doesn't seem to be the case for me. I now have forum posts and even craiglist postings ranking above my 2500+ word quality content that has comments from readers.

I virtually disappeared from a #1 ranking for certain keywords meanwhile a high authority site with barely 250 word article has now taken my #1 spot. My site indexing fluctuates each day as well, which leads me to suspect its definitely an error on their part. I was getting around 700 pageviews last month and yesterday I was down to 400ish :(

i'm pretty sure there is Google update going on today.

All my keywords disappear again from SERP.

Huge amount of bot activity. I think another update is brewing.

okay i got it.
According to me it may be content issue, i suggest you to go deeply and check how they are ranking now and while ranking high google is highlighting which keyword and which phrases. Do deep content analysis. Yes now a days every industry ranking fluctuating alot. We cant stop fluctuations because thats not in our hand but we can get the ranks back by just analysis.

I definitely think its an indexing issue. I now have more keywords then ever before according to semrush. How can I have more than 100-200 keywords then before yet have less traffic? It makes no sense.

I also just created a brand new site 1 week ago and I noticed the same issue. Some of my blog posts aren't indexed when I type in site:websitename.com and the number of pages indexed changes every few hours.

Yes , thats true some pages lost rank from first page and when uh check that url in console uh notice its shows that "url not on google" then once uh again reindex then it will retain the same rank.

Unfortunately for me that no longer works. I think google did something on their end because when I resubmit a url to get reindexed in search console, it doesn't reappear again in the serps like back in december.

Well, i think we should wait and see what happens. I also think there is a index problem from google, because semrush is showing a lot of keywords but my traffic is low.

yeah, I gained like over 200 new keywords according to ahrefs and semrush yet my traffic levels have decreased by more than 35% :(. My new 1 week old website is also showing fluctuations in the number of pages being indexed as well every couple of hours and some of the pages just disappear only to reappear again in the serps.

My sites are dancing quite heavily. Interestingly I seem to have recovered from the December update where a lot of people were nearly wiped-out. I'm more or less back to where I was before. This has all happened within the past 2 weeks. The only thing I did was remove a niche-relevant 301 redirect. Whether or not that had anything to do with it is anyone's guess.
