Over the weekend I started an Adwords campaign. I left the bid option on "auto bid" I check back a few hours later and see that I was billed $100 for 3 clicks, one of the clicks cost me $60. The lessons learned, do not let Google choose how much you pay per click and Google Adwords is garbage. I was already ranking organically for the keywords I bid on.

Funny how so few keywords make that sort of cash when you are an AdSense publisher, but as soon as you're paying for ads you're shelling out hundreds. Do you think Google honestly only takes 60% of each click or w.e. it is?

Most of the high payers are on G search results, and that doesn't get shared with anyone. Its also better targeted as the person searching is typing in the exact phrase that the adwords user is bidding on.

I've actually decided to set up a news site bases on the same subject matter. Hopefully I can made some decent Adsense revenue off of it.

$60 clicks would be in line with things like lawyers, insurance, and some real estate niches. IMHO if $60 is WAY above your click/conversion value then you picked the wrong niche and you saved money by finding this out now rather than later. Even if you cut the CPC down to 1/4th (which is not a sure thing) then you're still spending $15 per click mate.

May be time to reconsider the niche you chose?

Though that sucks, you shouldn't let google decide that for you. Did you get a good ROI?

I had 1 click of $20 in a normal niche, but it was a new account with a free voucher from G. Then i limited the price per click. Did you used some free voucher?

OP is just making a controversial thread. If you don't want to say anything, then please you don't need to create a thread in here. I don't want to increase my post count. :boggled:

Do not adword without knowing how to use it and what to expect from it.
