Now I have a question about Google +1

Does it increase rankings only when you are signed into your gmail account and have contacts that +1'd a site?

or

Does it increase rankings regardless of being signed in or not?

Google havent really said how it effects ranking yet.

I cant really imagine that it would have globel effects on SEPS, but like you mentioned i think it will only effect people if their friends have +1 sites for the terms they might be searching for at the time they are logged in.

It seems like it should have global effects in the future, but +1 is still something of a test run. The number of people who +1 a site seems like it would be, discounting SEO for a moment, a good way of testing to see if the site is worthwhile, or at least if it's trending.

It will become a very relevant tool in the future. Learn it the best you can now and you'll have a leg up on competitors down the road.
