today sadie walked the green mile. took her to the vets this morning
in to the room we went, the vet layed out a blanket on the floor to do the
procedure [PTS] sadie did something never done in 8 yrs.

she ran to me and burried her head in my chest and raised a paw. i looked
at the vet and said, we do it here i sat crouched on the floor, arms
around her waste, hugging style,

1 final kiss from mom/dad, and i nodded to the vet, head against my chest, i broke,
moments later, her head slowly lowered and rested on my knee .
and she was gone to the bridge.

RIP sadie, 8 was no age. just so annoyed, all her scans last aug
where clear. 4 months later fast aggressive inop stomach tumors
strangled her nutrition. i hope you meet cloey and run free.

8 yrs not enough especially as its all happened
in 4 months. soul crushing and only animal
owners no the feeling when one goes
in your arms

Sorry for your loss. Dogs make the best friends. There is no other kind of love... lost my dog when i was a kid...still think about her.

still feel like shit - dog running away from vet into my arms
and she wasnt a small dog, i think she was saying dont let them.
but she was so ill bleeding from the rear, intestines strangled
by an aggressive tumor from no where.it was time.

when uve had pets u no when its time, didnt leave me
feeling any better her running to me for comfort
so had to hug/ hold her while they did it to her sitting down.
went in my arms, killed me. wife was distraught

I'm So sorry for your lose. Thats the worst feeling in the world. I hope You and Your Wife take some time to heal. Remember the Good times and not the Bad. Be thankful for the time you had with your dog and That you gave her an amazing home and did everything in your power you could have done. Exactly what you said only Pet owns know this feeling.

not a pet guy. cannot relate. 9 years.. damn..
sorry for your loss man.

Very sorry for your loss. I went through the same process right before the holidays with my 8 year old dane due to bone cancer. While the final walk is as painful as anything you can experience, knowing that you are doing the right thing for your pet is what matters. It's not about our emotions, our loss, it's about being the best caretaker for your pet and once the quality of life takes a hit, it's time. Glad you were responsible about it. Much like you, I shed quite a few tears, which was the first time my wife saw me emotional, but it's perfectly fine because our pets earned those tears.

In my case, I was lucky enough to see the silver lining. As a father with young children, who is hustling between my career and online journeys to make a great living, I realized that my priorities aren't in the right place. I don't need large amounts of money, a big house, a fancy car... What I need is TIME. Time with my family, friends and pets. Instead of working towards bigger and better, I have learned to appreciate what I have and realize that my goal is to make just enough to break free from modern day slavery and be with the ones I care about.

I wish the best for you and your family and I hope that you have your own silver lining.
