What's Hostwinds position on SOPA?

Support or no support?

By the way I request hostwinds to have non-us based servers for content which is not allowed to be hosted in US as per recent changes. I know asking too much but this SOPA thing is out to kill internet.

Well I started this thread a few weeks ago.
Fight American Censorship - Help STOP the "Stop Online Piracy Act"

I've seen a few other threads as well. So yeah. there is a bit of noise about it on the site.

With Google, Facebook, AOL, eBay, Yahoo, etc. (Protect Innovation/opposition list) firmly against SOPA, it's hard to imagine what companies like Godaddy are thinking to voice support of it instead.

Everyone on this forum should be using any lists and websites they can use to get regular people involved. The more people who can join with the Protect Innovation site (or any of the other links in the thread I mentioned above) and add their names to any petitions (like the one you linked to) in opposition of the bill.

Yes but it's already happening.

I've already boycotted Godaddy. F*ck them so hard and I hope they will lose 50% of their clientelle. If only net users were aware as the rest of us.

Here's an update from GoDaddy regarding the boycott.

Update (6:18 PM): GoDaddy seems unimpressed by the boycott so far. They made the following statement to Ars Technica: "Go Daddy has received some emails that appear to stem from the boycott prompt, but we have not seen any impact to our business. We understand there are many differing opinions on the SOPA regulations."

I don't believe them for a second. In essence what this means is that now they will keep their support for SOPA private.

Exactly - They first announced they didn't give two sh!ts - Next thing you know they retract this statement and now they playing "oh we tried to formulate this law but it 'failed" ...F off!

For anyone still using Godaddy - be ashamed supporting these corporate paid pigs.
