This has been posted before, but it's important enough to post it again.
The US Congress is considering America's first system for censoring the Internet.
The fact is that this legislation as written won't stop piracy. But it would pose a serious threat to social media and user generated content sites (like YouTube) across the internet. It could also undermine some of the core technical systems underlying the internet, creating new cybersecurity risks.
Despite public outcry, the Internet Censorship bill could pass at any time. If it does, the Internet and free speech will never be the same.
In the USA, citizens contacting their representatives is the best way to stop this type of legislation. Let your Senators know if they vote for this bill, they will guarantee you won't vote for them ever again.
Call now to stop this censorship. Take 3 minutes to save the web. Call your Senators.
