No offense but the .tel domains are going to amount to jack shit. .com is what everybody knows and perhaps eventually more syntax's will get known but .tel has a LOOONG way to go.
Whatever organization that allows new domain extensions is thinking of every possible permutation of 2 and 3 letter extension so they can hype up new domains and market to people telling them they're going to be the next best domain.
It's a load of shit. .com, .net, .org in that order.

I've never had problem with godaddy in the past 1 year I have been using them.

Had godaddy do the same to me. I was researching a few domains to use for one of my sites. Not even a popular name or anything. By the next day a few of them were gone. I dont use godaddy anymore.

Back in 2002 I owed HostingDaddy.com and they claimed there was a trade mark issue.
I made the HUGE mistake of registering the domain with them and they STRAIGHT UP took it from my account, . . . cleaned the records to never show my registration.
At the time I was so broke . . no way to afford legal fees.

I worked at Godaddy. If you have any questions let me now and I can tell you yes or no if it is true. As far as the topic of a domain hiest it doesn't happen. I used to run into a few of these. It takes the system a little while to post it back in the auction system as being available.

True. Many people have had problems with Go Daddy. Most of you may have heard Mike Filsaime talk about his issue with Go Daddy years ago, where he got a single spam complaint, then they shut down his account and seized his domain without question.
There are plenty of better (and cheaper) registrars. Many people use Go Daddy because they're popular. Just do a search and you'll find some better ones.

If you think of a good domain name, D.O - N.O.T
Type it in on domain name checker in Godaddy. If its available, and you try to register it (or do what I did) and try registering it a few hours later, all of a sudden its on a GODADDY parked page, and when you contact the buyer, they ask for a rediculous amount.
This happened to me, On the same day I checked to see if a domain name was taken, I tried registering it a few hours later, it was parked on a godaddy page, I emailed the seller, and he said 'im taking offers of $3000.00"
I said to him ill offer $2000 (I wouldn't pay $200.00 for it) and he said no deal, $3g is minimum.
Stay away from them, they will rip you off blindy and rape you in the process just for shit and giggles.

In my experience, nothing beat Namecheap. I've used godaddy and what I don't like about it is that you get sold things after things that you don't need. Not to mention that you get your first year of privacy free whereas with godaddy you have to pay $10 or so. Good luck
