Godaddy is Stealing my new found domain...

first it was available but when i was about to checkout, it says its not available now.. and they give me other suggestions..

is godaddy is really stealing good domains?? i was searching the net and alot of claims regarding godaddy...

I don't think so.I guess somebody has already bought it while you are at checkout page.
 
They have like 1000 people working on this: as soon as you enter a good domain they steal it !

of course godaddy is not stealing domains, it makes no sense and is not doable
 
I think it was somekind of error. Happened to me once. Go to who.is and see when was the domain registered.
 
Yeah. I agree with invest207, go to whois.net and see with whom the domain is registered..
 
this happened to me as well earlier this week. typed in a domain, it was there...a couple hours later, gone. it does seem like quite a coincidence.

They used to do this constantly. There's a thread from a couple of years ago on another webmaster forum where we were searching for "godaddy sucks" type domains, adding them to our carts and then not purchasing. Sure enough, by the next day all of them were taken.
 
thats weird, arent there like some special codes though? ... that hide information in whois and domain registrars...if so, that could have made it come up as unregistered in there whois.
 
they have a private company...domain name brokerage related...if you check to see if a domain name is available through them, they steal it, this in case the domain name has potential. There are a lot of whois sites out there which don't give a shit what domain you are checking out, you just have to take look on big G
 
dude , this is not a new story

godaddy is crap , they did the same thing with me before

stay away from GoDaddy :(
 
Yes they done this to me i had it registerd for weeks paid etc but it didnt show in my account, i contacted them and they said it want mine and they had refunded me, WANKERS it was downloads.me
 
Same F**king thing has happened to me using Godaddy.. The rate close to P*YP*L. Beware...
 
Really thinks it's time to take action with these punks. It has happened to me 3 times already! Going to look into this ...
 
Seriously a similar thing happened to me and I thought I was going crazy - I was checking out available domains, saw one that was available, check again 5 minutes later and out of nowhere it was listed as a 'premium domain' which was for sale at $1k+

You might want to think twice about this though...if you are buying something that's really 'hot' right now, say like michaeljacksondeath.com you have to know that you are not the only one out there trying to capitalize. Maybe you're right, maybe godaddy swoops in and buys good looking domains before you check out...but I have bought probably 100 domains from them and never had an issue.
 
godaddy steel my domain too but in another way: just after i bought from them they changed it with another misspelled one. but in my email i received at registration it appeared with the correct name. that was 2 years ago or such...
