time to move to namecheap

I've got domains left w/ GoDaddy that are coming due in less than a week & I have had no success w/ their coupon codes. Never cared for the way they do business. Like when I'm told the coupon code has been applied, but the total due is the same as before - no discount was applied.

How much are renewals at Namecheap? They didn't use to be cheap at all...

I hate them so much! every time I need to renew a domain I simply transfer it to another registrar for just 8$ and that includes another year!

yes, its easy to just keep transferring between registrars and take advantage of good deals, but getting free privacy has always been difficult with godaddy, especially on renewals where they charge as much as the domain renewal just for privacy!

i too have been moving domains away from godaddy after their coupons no longer work (or after first year is up), mostly to namecheap, i just checked namesilo and they are indeed good pricing and seem pretty upfront about everything, with included free privacy forever, namecheap still charge for privacy (even though they give it to u free for the first year - which i think i got caught out on as i thought it was free forever).

i just checked around for some coupons for namesilo and found one:
which gives u $1 off for registrations and transfers (woopty-doo! but considering their prices are pretty good anyway, im gonna give them a go)
