This happened to me TWICE with 2 different domain names!!!!

I Was about to register a gamer domain name, These domain names were badass and i was amazed that no one has registered them. So i was headed trough the checkout process and it came up with the Domain name was unavailable. I Was WTF? and i went back and searched the domain name again and someone just registered it.

I Was pissed but after researching my niche i came up with another hot domain name and when i was going trough the checkout process again and i got the domain name unavailable again!!! i was like of fuck no.

I Went and searched the whois on both domain names and guess what???

Both domains are now owned by godaddy and the Creation Date: 25-jan-2012

I'm so pissed right now that i cant see straight! I Have no reason to lie on goddady because i really liked goddady for domain registration, i just didn't care for their hosting..

Can i do something about this?

After the whole "We're for SOPA, oh wait... that's REALLY unpopular... We're against SOPA now" fiasco, I've been looking for a reason to pull my domains... will probably do that in the next few weeks. Just not a big fan of them anymore.

To the OP... sorry to hear that you lost out on the sweet domains!

I Never had a problem with godaddy with registering domains, i didn't care for their hosting.

... hummm, makes you think (i've got a bunch of domains there as well)

any other comments from professional domain traders?

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago and have used NameCheap since and I always make sure that when I get offline work that I talk the customer out of GoDaddy and convince them to transfer their names away as well.

Did you use a whois site to check the domains at all, before you went to buy them?!

Cant you sue them? it's illegal

what's illegal about it? immoral yes, illegal no.

heard about them doing this before, they also reg domains which get searched alot i.e. if 3 diferent people search for domainxyz.com they see it as popular and reg it then sell it off.

scum

their hosting is shit i they have done that same thing to me before!!! i found a bad ass 3 letter domain and they fucked me with an AIDS dick (no homo). Fuck Godaddy to hell, i hope Bob parsons has to toss the salad of the devils fiery asshole. Fuckin prick

Ive had similar uncomfortable issues with them too. I think they should be put in the right place.

They did the same to me for about 4 of my domains last year. I was searching for catchy domains using their system, and found a couple nice ones that were available so I decided to register, and as soon as I got to the checkout, it said it was unavailable. And sure enough, a whois check showed that they were reg'd by GoDaddy.

If I remember correctly, I registered several domains in a bulkand they all appeared in my "shopping basket" at the checkout, and when it came to paying for them, the whole thing went through successfully. It was only when I got the automated email notifying me of my newly registered domains, I noticed that 1 of the domains I had in my "shopping basket" was not listed in the email. I checked back on my account, and they had only taken payment for the other domains and excluded this one. And yep, you guessed it, that mystery domain magically belonged to someone else (GoDaddy) having done a whois lookup.

GoDaddy are b*stards for obviously sniping on decent domain names. There can be nothing acceptable about this behaviour.

I have now learnt that when "looking" for a domain or wanting to do a simple Whois lookup on a domain, DO NOT use GoDaddy's tools to do this!

Sorry to hear you lost out. I dont think we can do anything about it, because they'd cold heartlidly deny the snipe, and we have no evidence to prove it either.

Yep. They do that all of the time. They are the biggest domain thieves in the game, and will even seize a domain you own if they feel like it. It is still beyond beliefe people do business with them.

Since having Gdaddy take a domain 1 day after I was searching for a good one, I have also decided to go with namecheap whenever possible. When I have to go with Gdaddy, I still do my searching with namecheap then at the last minute register with Gdaddy. Works every time!
Good luck in the future!

I always search for domains here ...

http://www.dynadot.com/domain/bulk-search.html

Extremely convenient, searches for .com, .net., .org and .info or any other combination you prefer, you can search for a bunch at one time.

OP - the title of your thread needs to be changed... Godaddy {has no soul|is soulless|can never have a soul|is too evil to have a soul|is a spawn of the Devil and thus lives there now}.

One has to have a soul to go to hell.

Please PM a Mod and get the title changed.

TIA.

you sure it's not a glitch? i mean sometimes godaddy shows the domain as available and in reality it is really not, check the whois to be sure.
