Godaddy can goto hell!

Namecheap does the same thing but they only snag EMD's. Where can we find a solid registrar that won't do this?

i know someone out there has a clue :)

What was so special about the domain, might as well out it.

name.com is the best.Top support and never had any problem with them

godaddy will definitely steal your ideas before you checkout. always use namecheap

This has happened a lot. It is not just you!

BTW, I feel like requesting a field test on this.....
Lets see if we all (BHW members) try to register a domain, the SAME one,,,
BUT NO ONE MUST BUY IT...
and then see if godadddy swipes it?

If this is OK to proceed, and fellow members are willing to spend 5 minutes...
lets begin.....

Lets all try to register the following domain, and then post your findings...

ILOVEKORFX dot com

I will post my results in 5 minutes...

Please lets just try this out OK?

I also got same experience. I still keep my domain with GD but new domain i purchase from namecheap. I choose them after doing small reasearch through google and some forums.

Good ones is I got .org as bonus when I buy .com
I'm not part of them and this is not promotion, only share.

This is nothing new, if you search Google you will find many similar horror stories. This is why I've always told everyone to go with Namecheap. Namecheap is the first registrar I have ever used and it's always been one of the best I have ever used. The only reason I'm with GoDaddy, yes I do have an account with them, is because they've got an awesome domain name aftermarket where you can grab some really nice domains.

PS. This made me lol.

I'm so pissed right now that i cant see straight!

dynadot dot com / resellerclub dot com is best for buying domains.

I've only had this happen if I wait or delay checkout while looking for other domains. If something is good enough to get upset about losing, go right to the checkout process after you see it available.

Godaddy is not the only registrar that does this but they are the most flagrant about it. I only utilize them for their discounts and then transfer away to Namecheap or Moniker when the wait time is over.

I got a few domains on godaddy too, but now I am on internetbs, the way I check domains is pretty simple...just type it on the address if it gives instant not found w/o timeouts 80% it is unregistered

I wrote a recent article that blasted GoDaddy and SOPA in one fell swoop.

Its called

"Hosting Corp Behemoth - Go Daddy - Goes Down Big Time!" (Just Google it)

I think you'll like it. WOuld have shared the link but am still in Newbie chains.

Cheers
