Hey all, Did anyone tried using github as your free hosting?
What are all the pros and cons using such platform to host your website?

it hosts static site only and if thats what you need you need i think you can use wordpress.com or meduim.com or https://teletype.in/ or https://telegra.ph/

but i think it would be helpfull if you mebtion why you wanna make website

Just to create temporary landing pages to collect emails... And to test some WordPress features (I don't know whether that's possible through github). Just curious to know anyone tried using it :)

What would you suggest? A domain + free hosting through WordPress or A domain + other free Web hosting platforms.. (just for temporary websites)

It should be possible to create a static landing page using github pages, and then use cross site requests to capture the leads; but then again...

Where would you host the backend? Github only hosts static sites afaik.

With that, your code is public (any body who accesses your github profile will have the full sourcecode available in the repo list) if you host there (html is public, anyway.. for that matter).

It's not such a good idea.

Got it... Thank you and much appreciated.

if you're broke your best bet is one of these either you jump from trial to another with landing pages vendors like clickfunnel , leadpage so on or you use aws or google cloud to host your own wordpress and shape it as you wish
