I need a IG username for a client that is "unavailable" but associated with an active account....how can I claim it? The gatekeepers seem to not have a method but I have a feeling you guys know how to get a IG username that should be available but isn't. Thanks!

Is the username a registered trademark, and is the current account holder impersonating your client?
In my experience, most smaller businesses do not have registered trademarks, in which case your only option will be to add "Official" or something similar to the username.

If they don't have the trademark, they have no legal right to the name in any context. And even with a registered trademark, it's at IG's discretion.
Your client needs to accept reality and go with "BrandOffical", "BrandNiche", or something similar. I've had many clients who thought that because they owned "XYZ auto sales" they should be entitled to xyz.com, but sooner or later they've all been forced to realize that life isn't fair and nobody owes them anything.
