I've seen many newer accounts with the ability to tag products in their images that link to Facebook shops. These accounts are not major brands and they also do not have that many followers. How do you set this up or what makes an account eligible. An example: waveswoodclothingco
How do you set your Instagram up to do this?

There is no restriction everyone can do it
I have my business facebook page set up with products for sell and it is linked to my IG business account but I cannot find any information on how to get the actual shop button and capability of tagging products on IG to be shopped to my FB page.

Maybe you have to share your product to instagram from facebook?

guys it is not official available. It is gonna be next year for everyone.

this is still an issue. I have got a facbeook business product catalog, and a business instagram, with no "shop" option on instagram..??

This is wacky: I set up a catalogue on Facebook just now for one of my IG accounts, no major issues; Unlike setting up a Facebook store, it didn't ask for tax ID, sales license, banking info etc. BUT...... I manage several Facebook pages, and only a few showed up under the Facebook.com/products link - strange as hell. Not sure how to get my other pages to show up on the Facebook.com/products page? Anyone?

NOTE: I have been trying with this address: business.facebook.com. It gives me some static about "signing in with a gray area" or some shit - so far, and endless loop of failed attempts & wasted time.

Okay, it took me forever, but I figured out to "create a catalogue" (vs. a Facebook shop) inside my Facebook account. From what I can tell, the catalogue doesn't ask for driver's license, business license etc. as with setting up the FB store (very invasive and unnecessary in my opinion).

Hello: As of today (June 16 2019) I am going to say that the "Add Shop" feature on Instagram accounts is totally random, and decided 100% by IG. Why? I have several IG accounts, all of them in the "business" category, some a few years old, and some barely a month old. Two of these accounts were offered the "add shop" button, one was only a month old. None of the others were offered this option.

FYI I did indeed set up "catalogues" for all the accounts on their linked Facebook pages, so that didn't seem to make a difference. Hope this helps!
