Getting an Office to Separate Home from Work

Has anyone else started off working from home but felt isolated so got an office?

I'm seriously thinking about getting an office in a few months and ramping up productivity (too many distractions at home)

What are your thoughts?

I did it many times, and every-time I'm getting tired from working from home and then moving to some co-working spaces. It's actually healthy to move work from outside but it's not comfy as home :)

No not as comfy as home.....but that's the idea!

Get out of my comfort zone (and distractions)
 
Yeah I was thinking the same already. But on the other hand, why waste money for an office if you don't need one? I will make a proper office at home for myself next year instead.
 
I think it's a smart move as you can separate work from your personal life. I have been thinking about doing the same, but I still have other things going on right now, so it wouldn't make sense at the moment. However, I do agree it's best to separate the two.

PS Who knows, you might meet some good friends or potential clients.

This what I need in my life.

Working in constant isolation isn't good.

I'm changing things up this year.

Do you work in IM?

Or sales etc?

Yes, the connections you make can be worth it alone......

And leave work at work.....it can be hard to switch off at home sometimes.

I'm sure you know the feeling.....
 
I'm the opposite, I focus better at home :D
My bff had a similar situation, a couple of times a week he goes to the cafe and practically sets up shop there as if he's working office hours, and he says it goes better for him. I think he's just not entirely used to it yet haha

I reasoned this for a long time.

It depends on your personal circumstances I guess.....

I'm actually in a coffee shop now writing this lol.

I couldn't imagine setting up shop here all day and trying to work
 
It's a good idea to have a separate space to work

Although I'm quite introverted and would rather find an abandoned asylum to share space with sleeping beggars and rats than interact with people in a coworking environment
 
I have a separate room at home that I use as my workspace... which is technically an office : )

I do find myself craving working outside sometimes though, which is why I go to the park to work once in a while.
It’s not always for productivity like in your case, but more for a change of environment.

I’ve used coworking spaces a few times before and it almost still felt like working from home ngl
I mean, you get to meet people and all that but the fact that it’s still a room with a desk and a chair didn’t really give me what I was looking for

Working in an open space, in a nature park with a view (trees, animals, etc.) and fresh air makes it totally worth it for me every time I visit to work there

If I could go to the park to work every day... I would not mind : D

That's true, for me it was mainly the costs, since renting an office here is quite expensive. I never thought about co-working spaces though like many people mention here. That's actually a great idea!

Well, I can 100% understand this....

I would rather work somewhere outdoors too....but.....have you ever seen the weather forecast for Britain?

It's raining most days here....even when it's meant to be sunny, it rains :weep:

Literally can't make any plans for outdoor work here.

Also, the coworking space.....you didn't get much out of it by the sounds of it.
 
I did that back in like 2007 or so, and my productivity did go up.

I rented an office in a small office building and had some nice interactions with some of the others in there; one is still a friend.

Good example - you never know who youre going to interact with.

You could make some new friends or make some good business connections or new clients!
