When you have no clue what you're talking about then please don't post about it.

1) A homepage with PR8 doesn't automatically translate into every page on the site being PR8 - far from

2) Have you even tried searching for your joomla forum profile page in Google to verify your claims about a PR8 link?

3) You probably haven't since you need to be logged in as a user to be able to see forum profiles - which means that Google also isn't able to spider your profile page - search Google for site:forum.joomla.org inurl:ucp inurl:profile and you'll get exactly 0 results back.
 
I'll make this easy for you websuperman, read the post directly above you.

EDIT: I added simple instructions on how to add a URL to your signature, since lovemetender and samshady, are so worried about your link being publicly visible w/o registering, and are under the assumption joomla doesn't have special accounts created for google bots to crawl those pages)

Your profile link wouldn't be PR8. It would be PR0. Although if you start to post more often then it will go up.

As apposed to the default 'please login' as a normal user.


It can spider the pages - the profile link is worthless, but if you fancy spamming the Joomla forums you might get a few backlinks with high PR.

Iv posted a TON of links on PR8 7 and 6 forums. Google has already indexed it but they never show up when i search my backlinks. Whats up with that? Not one.
 
Yep, you need to be registered to get acces to profile page, so this one looks not useful at all...
Made me lose 3 min of my precious time :p
 
backlink from profile won't be same as homepage, lucky you got n/a..

I would like to see some documentation on this one. The forums that keep the profiles from being publicly visible usually do so for a reason and that reason is to cut down on the spam. It makes no sense at all for them to make them invisible to visitors and then let the bots crawl and index them.

Just because the bots crawl the forum posts does not mean they are allowed to crawl the profiles. One has nothing to do with the other.

OP, even if the search engines could see the profiles (which they cant) the PR of the profiles page will be PR0 and will be fo all eternity! unless you actually build back links to it of course!

its not that easy to get high PR back links mate lol
