Hey I got a question, whats the difference in SEO strategy between the big 3 search engines? I know that for G00gle, backlinks is the main thing, but what about the other 2?

So like if a certain niche gets more traffic or has less competition on the other 2 search engines... You get the point.

Everybody is so focused on G00gle that they get all googley in the head.

M$N is best for targeting business-to-consumer (B2C) products, as well as things that aren't too technical in nature. By "technical", I mean stuff like computer programming, non-mass-market electronics, etc. The tech-savvy people are more likely to be using G00gIe. G traffic is also seemingly more difficult to convert, perhaps because G users tend to be smarter consumers (just a generalization -- there are always exceptions).

As for SEO, M$N puts a lot of weight into the domain name, so if targeting that search engine, try to get an exact match domain name for your keyword. M$N also seems to like mini-sites (1-2 pages), whereas G likes big "authority" sites. I don't know much about Y@hoo.

My experience is that links work well on all three, with them working even better on Yahoo & MSN.

no $hit? I thought links would be less relevant for yahoo at least, because my competitors are up on the top 10 SERP's with social site profile spam pages. These pages come and go about every week, I'm surprised at how well it works on yahoo lol but it doesn't last long...

google is the best and has the maximum traffic. Try conquering msn and yahoo first, you'll land up on the 1st page of google automatically

Acctually peaple can get a part of traffic from google thats why they optimize for google, anyways Yahoo also look for backlinks but they dont see backlink quality as compare to MSN they just see backlink numbers NO PR etc shit like google.

Guys you all keep going on about back links

Now do you think msn google and yahoo think you and the rest of the world don?t know back lings help you rank

Now to the point OUTBOUND links look in MSN webmasters tools BIG tab saying outbound links or words to that affect

So dose this not tell you they also look at who/where you link to now

The thing is, I can't tackle msn or yahoo the same way I tackle google. Most of my traffic comes from google, no other search engine. I'm on top for google on a couple of searches, but not yahoo or MSN, I'm basically nowhere to be found on them unless I type in my domain name!
