Full ID Verification Process for Marketplace Sellers

Age is not a factor for selling. It's possible someone could be young and a genius.
It is as far as the law is concerned in the USA. Under 18 technically can't enter any legally binding contract such as making a sale. Not sure if it matters here or not though.

If I can add one more suggestion here - as well as things proposed in OP, can we also use the information to acertain a sellers nationality and highlight the country of residence on their page or headers somewhere. Maybe just a flag or something.

Reason for this suggestion is that it will help to determine what kind of prices I should be paying for anything negotiable. As a potential customer i'm not going to be very happy about paying writers in places like kathmandu the same as what i'd pay writers in sf, nyc or city of london, as one example.

Also it will help to minimze any resulting "anti-competitve" practices I feel - If your paying 100 bucks for something offered by someone in both a very expensieve tier one area, and very cheap tier three area, and are none the wiser about who they are and where they're from and naturally will be incliend to go for the cheaper option. Now the tier three guys can easily drop the price in half cause 50 bucks can still go a long, long way, wheras someone living in nyc will know if you try living on 100 bucks for a few days work or even a few hours worth of work for long enough and you'll practicality be living in austerity.
I think this would be more fair on both buyers and tier one sellers, than it would be unfair to tier three guys as you will know to a greater extent what is a fair price to pay someone.
So you can both localize the competition and then focus more on assessing things based on quality rather than pricing. And not only that, but i'd gladly pay a tier three freelancer in places like nepal double or more if the work was good. Im sure they would appreciate this, and as I know i'm not being fleeced and it's a fair deal (and then some if they're good) I would appreciate it too. There will be no such breach of confidence and so I think it would be a win-win situation all round.

Not saying that it's a bad idea but better to introduce an escrow bot than to enable ID verification for marketplace threads. A lot of people prefer anonymity(including me), so an escrow bot would be better as there is no chance of getting scammed while using escrow.
Escrow is good
Escrow will be good after getting the work done by the seller and marking the task completed then only funds will be released.
But there is one problem, it will increase lot of work for bhw staffs incase seller promised what it is written in there service but buyers aren't satisfied

if this comes into affect, it'll change BHW to WHW and people trying to stay anonymous on the internet would have to add "and dont sell on BHW."
there goes VCC, movie sites etc. i know its for security purposes for sales threads, but it'll definitely deter quite a few people and remove alot of Black Hat

The entire staff understands and appreciates your point and that is being taken into consideration and you will be glad to see that there will be opportunities for commerce to be anonymous.

That has been part of the conversation from the get-go.

Everyone need Privacy in internet and i dont think this is an Great on which Platform need to focus

There are plenty of people who use American flags etc as avatars on here or list their location as say New York and have clearly never been to these places.

It's easier to hop on a video call if you're unsure.

That's a good suggestion. But I meant if it was possible to confirm country of billing address based on what their IDs say. If that's even allowed I mean. As far as data privacy laws go i'm sure one of the staff probably have a better idea than me.

If you need a real ID to do business here why not just go to fiver? Why do the people that run this site even want to deal with all our real info? They know the FBI will come asking for info and they know they can't say no or even admit they gave you up or THEY will go to jail.

Hey,

For the upgraded marketplace that is getting rolled out soon, I think it should be standard procedure for all marketplace sellers to be fully ID verified before listing products for sale.

While payment and invoice billing can give some level of verification to the BHW staff, I think there should be a full-on ID process that can't be bypassed. I'm not saying that this information should be made public, but having this extra measure will definitely increase the legitimacy of the marketplace. I think this will remove a lot of the low-level, scammy BSTs that get opened. This improves the marketplace for buyers & sellers alike.

Some apps already have features like this. "Upload a 30 second video of you stating your name, your service, and country of origin" along with an upload of a government issued ID.

Complete anonymity shouldn't be a feature for marketplace sellers. BHW staff should know exactly who the seller is in case things get out of hand. In the past 24 hours, a marketplace seller on BHW (who has now been suspended) has threatened to dox me, "ruin" my business, send me fake reviews, burn my house down, destroy my reputation, and so on (all because I called them out for ripping off my brand's logo).

Just a thought. I think it would improve things.
This definitely looks like a good idea. This method will reduce scammers.

Some sort of system like this would be great. Honestly it would.

It does suck though because after you weave in and out the good and bad sellers, I feel like no matter what you will always find Sh*t sellers.

The fact is this: BHW is a huge opportunity for entrepreneurs to make money online selling digital services. If there was a system in place to increase the quality, it would be great. (I.E: Becoming a Junior VIP or something).

But sadly, buying this title just isn't enough.

For example: Fiverr has a section called: Fiverr Pro Seller. (Giving the seller a label that separates them from other normal sellers).

Sadly again, you still find SH*t fiverr Pro sellers.

I don't know the answer and I know that BHW support its forum and name. I just don't think there will every be a system in place that protects buyers 99% of of legit, honest and hard working sellers.

Either way, there is always room for improvement. And BHW makes this clear with its staff and in-debted procedures needed to become a seller.

But in the end, I think no matter what there is no way to bypass the Sh*t sellers.

Where can I find information on the new improved marketplace?

Where can I find information on the new improved marketplace?

It is still in the development phase but coming along nicely with the upgrades and improvements. A handful of staff members are involved in the process and a bunch more in the testing aspect.

The resources, in time, money, and staff expense as well as the testing aspect of a bunch of other staff members is a fair amount but will give the members a much better buying experience.

Another stream income for Russians!

There are enough hobos, man! :D

Dude, to become an escrow company, you NEED ESCROW LICENSE. And license in different USA states and also in Europe. Check out escrow.com and their credentials.

If you open an escrow without proper licensing, it would be VERY easy to sue BHW and earn a big payday! :)

Their ID might be from hobos all around the globe :p

I wouldn't bet on that, man. So many holes and so many companies that have been broken into. That's a losing bet.

The irony that this fucking guy is banned now.

This will be a nice addition, but it had to e handled thru a company that is certified for this otherwise BHW might face issues by breaking some laws and so on.

This isn't a good strategy. full ID verification is going against most BHW principles. I suggest making a harder or more thorough review process of the services before approving, but ID verification is a NO NO. In the age where there is almost no privacy, BHW should stand for its rights. + it's another duty for the mods that could turn ugly if they start asking for info. You know who "they" are, and you know damn well they already m/o/n/i/t/o/r this forum

There will be options for those that do not want to go the KYC route.

The staff understands that some may not want to be involved in the process, and that is perfectly fine, but there will be protection for buyers and sellers in the KYC realm when 2.0 is good to go.

BTW, it is looking like a million dollars at this juncture and the work that is being produced by those behind the scenes is mega-fantastic as I'm lucky enough to be involved in the testing aspect and I'm 100% sure you most will be impressed as well.

The goal is to offer a better buying and selling experience for all involved and this is well past heading in the right direction.
