Hey,

For the upgraded marketplace that is getting rolled out soon, I think it should be standard procedure for all marketplace sellers to be fully ID verified before listing products for sale.

While payment and invoice billing can give some level of verification to the BHW staff, I think there should be a full-on ID process that can't be bypassed. I'm not saying that this information should be made public, but having this extra measure will definitely increase the legitimacy of the marketplace. I think this will remove a lot of the low-level, scammy BSTs that get opened. This improves the marketplace for buyers & sellers alike.

Some apps already have features like this. "Upload a 30 second video of you stating your name, your service, and country of origin" along with an upload of a government issued ID.

Complete anonymity shouldn't be a feature for marketplace sellers. BHW staff should know exactly who the seller is in case things get out of hand. In the past 24 hours, a marketplace seller on BHW (who has now been suspended) has threatened to dox me, "ruin" my business, send me fake reviews, burn my house down, destroy my reputation, and so on (all because I called them out for ripping off my brand's logo).

Just a thought. I think it would improve things.

I'm wondering if @IGKing also listened to the part where the staff discussed about possible age restrictions for the marketplace if the ID system takes place.

SecondEye is out, but there will be alternatives offering documents and video recordings to bypass this verification

This sounds like a good idea, I am always down for ideas that help prevent scams.

This would be awesome! :) Please make this happen.

There's always going to be ways to bypass a system if you're desperate enough, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't take reasonable steps to improve the legitimacy of the marketplace.

I was also ripped (Wengthemeng) but nonetheless I wouldn't recommend this. You have with Visa, Mastercard & PayPal all the protection that you might need. You can order IDs online and scammers fake up whole companies, documents, licence etc. so it might give a wrong sense of trust.

Also I wouldn't ever upload my documents to BHW, not even the biggest companies can protect their user information in the long run, so how can BHW?

Still it is a forum, their should be some improvement for the feedback/review system - so no one needs to read 50+ Pages to find valuable insights from the buyers.

Not saying it's a bad method. But it's hard when I can literally pay someone to do full Kyc for me , even a video.

Suspicious.

Age restrictions are already in place - one has to be 13 or over to join

We are doing that via video so that is perfect.

I’ve seen few marketplace online where this is mandatory. It surely helps in decreasing scams as no one would their data to be added in Scammer database.

Let's just think it through for a second. What ID systems would you like in place that are non bypassable for scammers? Without yeet'ing every vendor's privacy out of the window. "Some apps already have features like this. Upload a 30 second video of you stating your name, your service, and country of origin" along with an upload of a government issued ID." What kind of blackhat apps are you on? I get the fact that you're in your feelings and stuff but do you actually think that one's PERSONAL information should be disclosed if one makes a threat? I'd like you to elaborate on your vision for a "scam free" marketplace. You don't seem to be writing from an objective perspective.Otherwise you would've suggested an escrow or deposit system. @IGKing at the end of the day it's just internet.

Stay safe,

Not saying that it's a bad idea but better to introduce an escrow bot than to enable ID verification for marketplace threads. A lot of people prefer anonymity(including me), so an escrow bot would be better as there is no chance of getting scammed while using escrow.

Great idea, other forums are doing this already.

Exactly! ID verification is very easy to bypass.
