Full ID Verification Process for Marketplace Sellers

Pick one.

I totally agree with @IGKing . I think that if we will verify marketplace sellers it will be a great solution because people will think twice before they're trying to scam anyone. However, from a business standpoint it could be the worst thing that BHW can do.

First of all, BHW is a small business. It's not a giant like Fiverr or eBay that can afford them selves to hire 30 lawyers at a blink of an eye.

Making a KYC for BHW will open a black-market for people to sell BHW accounts at higher rates. even that there are now some black markets who sells BHW accounts ; when KYC will be implemented it will grow further - so it's far away from being a solution. if a lowlife scammer made money once, he will figure out another way.

3. If a law enforement will ask about person X identity and it will be false it might put BHW in troubles with questions like : How did you let that happen in your platform that people making accounts with false identity? who's in charge for KYC approval?

or, if there's a plan to let a third-party handle the KYC process ; It's like out of BHW control. so such question should raise a concern who are those people that you're sharing KYC with?

Saying that a database leak won't happen because it's all going to be secure ?
Binance,Kucoin & Amazon KYC and other Multi million dollars businesses is being bypassed by un-ethical people that I hope that we won't have in here. so saying that this system won't bypassed by bad actors without any ethics?

as a member of BHW I want the best for it but I am not sure if @IGKing are able to see the whole picture.

Personally, I am confused as to whom to support. King vs Professor. Tough call! ;)

Pick one.

It was rather obvious to me he meant you are right it would cut down on scammers
and for that he 100% agrees.

You are not seeing the entire picture though or thought about everything completely.

That is true. ^

With that being the case he should structure his thoughts
rather than picking one.

hah, I actually on his side but there two sides for every move and he see just the side that benefits his own personal interest.
nothing against him as he is actually a great BHW Contributor.

Totally agree. I think this marketplace will work better with a full KYC and a legal address visible or in admins hands

this is interesting, because :
1. in whengthemeng's case, someone know where he lives, his address, his company, blabla. and he live in US where the law is dumb but pretty strong. and yet, no one can do anything.
2. most of us don't live in america/europe. I live in SEA where 80% of people here use pirated windows and software and big company like microsoft or adobe have no power. and most of police are corrupt that when you lost your motorbike, and they found it, you should pay half the price of the motorbike or they will sell it to other people. knowing ID, name and even video proof won't do shit in here. especially when the victim is someone from other's country.

now, marketplace where people can 'choose' their buyer is tricky. it's basically make the public choose. it will go two ways tho. one way people love verified ID seller, and other seller will follow, or leave. the other way, people doesn't care about verified ID seller, so it's basically useless since we're back to current situation.

I vote for escrow. based on my experience. escrow is the safest way to prevent scam happens. and probably an option for smaller transaction, but it's mandatory for bigger transaction.

See this.

Based off what I've seen in this thread, it basically comes down to the following:

1.) Can you trust BHW with your private information?

2.) Why provide the security measure if people are going to find ways to bypass it anyway?

3.) Would BHW be able to protect sellers from authorities / corporations?

4.) Why have verification measures if Escrow is already in place?

Am I missing anything? Feel free to let me know.

And I suppose my response would be:

1.) You already trust BHW with your private information, passwords, IPs, billing information, etc.

2.) Raising the standards for entry will provide better products & services for the marketplace.

3.) A valid question. A good question for the mods.

4.) I think Escrow is going to happen for certain transactions no matter if the extra security measures are in place or not. This verification measure is for more peace-of-mind for non-Escrow transactions.

Again, I'm open to discussion, feedback, and criticism. I obviously had a bad experience with a BST seller today, but that doesn't mean I'm emotionally charged or rejecting all dissent on this topic. I feel like I've been pretty calm about this entire situation, and I've been pretty open to everyone's opinion.

Oh great, another verification service for Russians to bypass & sell. I see no way this can go wrong.
Another stream income for Russians!

This will be a headache for those who has multiple seller accounts.
One min silence for them :D
There are enough hobos, man! :D

Clarity for all. Escrow will be baked into the new marketplace.

Not to become a personal data / finance company.
Dude, to become an escrow company, you NEED ESCROW LICENSE. And license in different USA states and also in Europe. Check out escrow.com and their credentials.

If you open an escrow without proper licensing, it would be VERY easy to sue BHW and earn a big payday! :)

Might also introduce some fear into the scammers that come here to sell fuck all. Afterall why would they attempt to scam when you have their ID ; - ).
Their ID might be from hobos all around the globe :p

Give it a run.

My money is you are going to lose.
I wouldn't bet on that, man. So many holes and so many companies that have been broken into. That's a losing bet.

Yea I'm not trusting this site with my ID. They will get hacked and I will get pwned once again. Fool me 99 times shame on you...

I believe what @Diamond Damien is saying is that BHW will not be handling your ID, but rather
a third party will be doing that.

That 3rd party would be a trusted company like Stripe uses etc.

My question is about Escrow...

Optional? Because a lot of seller models are subscription-based and small packages.

Imagine if BHW was to mandate ID verifications, the amount of BHW accounts with fake or user info that would be used to create them...

Obv, BHW shouldn't allow people to buy or sell those accounts.

I don't support an ID verification, this is a blackhat forum, what the hell do you want to share your personal ID here?

Middleman, Escrow and a better feedback system is a better way.

Also, getting a brain and doing proper research about a seller first is the least to do to avoid getting scammed.
Although some scammers are really good at it, but that's a fairly low amount of them.

Giving tools to help taking a decision is much better.

This is also not good. BHW would loose his Stripe/PayPal first month after indroduce that because chargeback/refund ratio :)
Also what then with people selling in cryptos? There are also popular accounts forum with Middleman and I was scammed even with that ;)

I think the best would just to make better instructions for buyers and regular campaing with warning.
You can use mailing for that, alerting on forum (for example once/month), etc.
It would be also nice to eliminate some products with high scam ratio - mostly financial accounts. People don't need to buy them on BHW.
Or atleast forbidden them in HAF/WTB section. It's not about Jr.VIP sellers, it's mostly about these 2 sections.
Also the controversial change: The Shitlist rules, there should be introduced some limit. People are going to the shitlist with $20-$40 scams. Do it from $100 or even higher.
People doesn't care about their safety and then they are going to cry to the shitlist, wasting BHW moderation time for section.

I don't have time to argue with someone not looking to listen, considering your reasoning.

I agree. I think a moderator should do a whatsapp live video to ensure the person isn’t using a premade video . I respect privacy but I don’t see the problem with market place sellers being verified privately with a moderator

I don't want to leave this giant paper trail anywhere for any reason and especially not here. This is BLACKHATworld not Carebearworld. This site will work with all law enforcement because they will have no choice. Being innocent and never breaking the law is no reason to not be afraid of this.

I'm wondering if @IGKing also listened to the part where the staff discussed about possible age restrictions for the marketplace if the ID system takes place.
Age is not a factor for selling. It's possible someone could be young and a genius.
