askingalot is officially dead. It got deindexed from Google. These kinds of websites unfortunately don't work in the long run if they get good traffic.
Both askinglot & everythingwhat made good money for almost 2 years. Lots of sites still indexed. Why google not deindexing them all at once?

They still making good money from bing and direct traffic. Google will never be able to get rid of spam websites completely.

In my opinion, it is because the costs would outweight what they would gain. Unless this "problem" goes mainstream, they won't do a massive scale fix. The content exactly answers what the users are for, they stay for long and have low bounce rate. I think checking content that's made up from many different sources would also be very experience. That is just my opinion. There are big authoritative sites that were getting millions of traffic with normal content and they started to do these kind of articles as well. If you were google, would you punish such website? Additionally there are hundreds of sites getting 50k-100k traffic, is it worth it for google to deindex them?

Just my thoughts, I might be wrong :)

Actually, any old enough member here knows 100% this is false. And google has emplyees lurking in this forum all the time.

I personally had a close friend whom Matt Cuts tweeted his BST service and de-indexed his whole network. This is a public incident so its all I can tell

Actually makes a lot of sense.

Also, google likes pushing the hard work on to the webmasters themselves. So if those sites plagiarised your content then report them.
I don't know... just a wild guess, maybe after many reports they finally deindex those sites.

It could be, no one can guess what's in Google's mind and how they view things.

However, personally, I believe backlinks play a big role in these websites getting deindexed. The reasons I say this is because I've been monitoring a few "niche" ones that don't have a huge backlink profile. One could say they have no manually built backlinks at all. yet, they translate the questions in 10 languages, have 4,000,000 pages indexed and are doing fine.

It's just a thought.

Honestly, I was keeping askinglot on a pedestal, because in my opinion, they were doing everything right. Was going through SOME of their backlinks, and most of them, if not all, were legit gained from webmasters just linking out to references.

It could very well be Google just doesn't want them, end of story.

I also remembered they were not using Adsense, but something else.
Maybe it was about money after all? Kind of a stretch, but no one really knows.

Most ad networks like adthrive, ezoic, monumetric, mediavine etc. use google ads (exchange) so google profits from that as well. But in some cases, few sites use only native adverts like revcontent. I think they accidentally scraped porn/war/banned content and got banned from the main ad networks. But its only few sites. Also if you check /ads.txt you can see which sites belong to one owner :) Since they use the same acc for ads on all sites

Are you just talking about midogguide.com? Another spam site (with millions pages) that translates its content in different languages?

www.iptaletmek.com
Just for the experiment, I started mine about 2 months ago. Google has slowly started picking my site. So far so good.

As per my experience, scraping is not the hard part but getting the posts indexed is. You need to constantly build quality backlinks and lots of social signals, to get your posts indexed.

Now it's time to create some more threads about kknews.cc and also kill it. I am pretty sure you can do it boys ;)
Imagine what would have happened if you didn't create at least 30 threads about PAA method around BHW. Those boys from askinglot and similar would still rank and bank ;)

Can you tell me what CMS it has?

It's not like his content is translated. Maybe a big team writes it...

What's kknews.cc? Is that an AI content generated site or scraped content site or something?

Yeah, definitely not translated LMAO. 301 Chinese kids write it 24/7.

Find it yourself.
Find what myself? It's not in English, I don't even really know what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Is it AI generated and/or RSS autoblog generated. plus auto-translation, to pass it off as original...? That's the only guess I can come up with, beyond that I throw up my hands

@mdevo was just thinking out loud more to people who already know that website, in which case Google said they are too big and would create a huge impact if they take it down.

They take advantage of two Chinese dialects and translate from one to another. Simplified vs traditional or something like that, where they look similar but are not. They basically translate everything under the sun and get away with it.
